The second Democratic debate hosted by CBS drew 8.5 million viewers, according to ratings from Nielsen.
It was the lowest rated primary debate this campaign season from either party, though it was the most watched show on Saturday night for broadcast television. The first Democratic debate, hosted by CNN, brought in a record-breaking 15.3 million viewers. The previous record for a Democratic debate was in 2008, which saw 10.7 million viewers for a debate on ABC.
CBS also garnered 1.2 million live streams of the debate across several platforms.
Broadcast networks have a far wider reach than cable, since anyone with a television can usually access broadcast networks for free. But the Saturday night schedule, fewer candidates, declining interest, and some competing sports game caused many to expect lower ratings.
Many in the Democratic party, from officials to some candidates themselves, have questioned the Democratic National Committee's decision to host just six debates and schedule half of them with broadcast networks on weekends (one of them taking place on the Saturday before Christmas). The DNC has been defending questions about the schedule for months, and the critiques will likely intensify as the ratings continue to decline.
Simon Rosenberg, president of the New Democrat Network and a former ABC News producer and DNC official, has warned that by the end of the debates season, there will be a large gap between the number of potential voters Republicans reach versus Democrats. The first two Republican debates on Fox News and CNN drew in more than 23 million viewers each. The second two Republican debates, on much smaller cable networks CNBC and Fox Business, drew in more than 13 million viewers each.

I watched for laughs... fun to watch the liars in action and the suck up press attempt to look like their treating the parties equally.

AND if Networks figure viewers like newspapers figure ‘viewers’ the numbers are inflated. There’s an assumption that 2.5 people read a newspaper delivered to a home. When ‘readership’ numbers are given out they’re based on a formula.. I’m sure it’s the same with networks.
All democrats are liars... you have to remember that... it’s why they have paid trolls... sometimes they lie by proxy.
That’s a bad thing. Why do you think they put them on Saturday nights and only have 6? They don’t want anyone to watch except those that will vote Dim anyway.
They intended that when it was scheduled for Saturday. The only tv watching on Saturday is college football.
Once again, Democrats don’t debate. They don’t know how to formulate and argument nor defend theirs. What Democrats do is dictate and if you disagree with them they ridicule and strawman you into being silenced.
Democrats are dictators, not debaters. You never saw Mao and Stalin in a debate, did you? Ho Chi Minh didn’t debate. Pol Pot didn’t debate. Debates are simply a manufactured event that leads to their coronation of their pre-selected dictator, much like sham elections.
What was even more laughable was the agit-prop coming out of the Clinton camp.
The knew full well the debate was going to be ratings hell.....so they manipulated the viewership, saying THEY did not want a big audience. Shows how desperate they are.
Hillary has become a frickin’ political joke.
That would make the Obamas the Ebola of our political system, where the host pukes and bleeds until they die.
Hillary REALLY didn’t want a large audience - that part’s true. Seems the more people see her the LESS they like her. It’s why democrat ‘debates’ are scheduled on Saturdays, opposite major sporting events etc. Hillary wants fewer debates and no viewers. She’s a loser.

Don’t let that fool you in the slightest. The RATS chose Saturday nights for the debates for a very good reason - That is the lowest rated day for any TV show besides college football. They are smart and devious - they are hiding Hillary from national exposure, because we all know any time she gets exposure, she gets exposed. The RATS don’t want that. They are pulling a sneak attack, trust me. By the time March rolls around, the media will make Hillary look like a saint and all of the negatives will be projected as yesterdays news and should be disregarded. The will also continue to create polls that show Jeb Bush gaining ground. Hell, he could even drop out of the race and they would still show him in the lead. Why? Because he is very beatable by Hillary.
An enema would be more fun than watching a couple of America-hating morons laughing and giggling about how evil Americans are and how we need THEM to keep us in line and spend OUR money for us. You would need to have the mind of a three year old to be interested in any DemocRAT “debate.” It’s like being a foster child being lectured to by his new “mommy and daddy” who are a couple of old drunks.
