American Millennials are far more likely than older generations to say the government should be able to prevent people from saying offensive statements about minority groups, according to a new analysis of Pew Research Center survey data on free speech and media across the globe.
Even though a larger share of Millennials favor allowing offensive speech against minorities, the 40% who oppose it is striking given that only around a quarter of Gen Xers (27%) and Boomers (24%) and roughly one-in-ten Silents (12%) say the government should be able to prevent such speech.

This is a result of banning History in our schools. America is headed for the Mother of All Train Wrecks.
Inching toward an acceptable dictator.
Four in ten Millennials are stupid.
Many here want to abolish the Department of Education. While I agree that it should eventually be eliminated, I think it would be best to do a "conservative takeover" of the Department.
President Trump/Cruz should name a Secretary who would dismantle the Liberal infrastructure that is in place in the schools and universities around the country.
Title IX and Affirmative Action should be cancelled by Executive Order (Liberals can thank Obama for showing us how it can be done!). All the Marxists in education should be purged.
Responsibility for education is schools should be given back to the local communities.
This all could not be done by simply eliminating the Department of Education.
Direct action needs to be done to purge the Marxists.
The Constitution is losing relevance.
Schools, courts, government ignoring/destroying our founding principles.
“Hate speech is non speech.”
The only sin left is offending ____ insert liberal protected class here _____.
Yup.
If this is true, then where are all these crazy racists they keep complaining about?
I never thought I would see this in my life, so quickly.
Shameful.
This is the fruit of liberalism. The Orwellian concept of being able to hold two opposing thoughts simultaneously in your brain as truth.
They have been sheltered, pampered, and lack critical thinking skills. Not all, but a large percentage.
Mizzou elected a gay, black class president and that’s supposedly a hotbed of the KKK. Go figure...
I like the way you think.
Actually, History was the first subject that the large tax exempt foundations decided to change the way they were taught, in 1913.
This was found by the Reece Commission on Tax Exempt Foundations in 1953. The Carnegie Foundation let the committee look at the Trustees minutes from the beginning forward, for one week. This may have been because the President of the Foundation didn't know it's history. He had just taken the job from Alger Hiss because Hiss was arrested.

I agree the department of education should be abolished, but before it goes...
* Apply title 9 to come down on any government universities that do not have close to 50% male/50% female students... (nearly all of them)
* Take common core and start applying some “common sense” mandates such as mandatory gun safety training.
* Require schools to have either armed guards or allow staff to conceal carry
* Start civil rights inquiries into any university or school that banished Christian clubs for not being inclusive and then even consider making a “safe spot” that is exclusive
After the left screams and pitches a fit... then offer to just scrap the department. (But keep the changes!)
Toffensive
Everyone has parents. Those parents need to start educating their children. Even if children don’t agree when they are in the “I’ll live forever” twenties, they’ll come around later if their parents establish a good foundation.
This generation is a disaster. I see it. I know it.
THAT is the real threat to the republic.
The schools, the media, Hollywood, corporations that have commercials with two fathers and a baby!?!?!?!
Campbell’s, by the way. .
