Well, wouldnât you know it? âMembership in a terrorist organization does not prohibit a person from possessing firearms or explosives under current federal law,â according to the Government Accountability Office and now a report from the federal agency finds that over 2,000 individuals on the FBIâs terrorist watch list have indeed successfully and legally purchased a firearm from 2004 to 2014.
Between 2004 and 2014, suspected terrorists attempted to purchase guns from American dealers at least 2,233 times. And in 2,043 of those cases â 91 percent of the time â they succeeded. There are about 700,000 people on the watch-list â a point that civil libertarians have made to underscore that many on the list may be family members or acquaintances of people with potential terrorist connections.

Then I think of the Fast and Furious an when does our government care unless they can restrict citizens.
The so called terror watch list is nonjudicial. So a mere suspicion can get you on it.
- I’m willing to bet a lot of them are non-muslims that are being placed on this watch list. Obama consider tea partiers as terrorists

Gun Control!!
President Obama gave us a sneak peak of his upcoming agenda for 2016, his last year in the Oval Office, during an interview with GQ Magazine. His top concern? ...gun control of course.

Does that list include tea-party members?
Until these people on “terrorism watch lists” do something crimnal, they are entitled to purchase any firearm they wish.
Especially since there is no explanation as to how someone gets on to the list, and what they can do to get off of it.
Sen. Joseph McCarthy said: “I have here in my hand a list . . . “ Those on the left still refer to government-sponsored witch hunts as McCarthyism.
How does one get on the terror watch list? How does one get off the list? Who decides?
False accusations is enough to put you on the list?
I don’t know. But I read stories about people being on a list and they don’t know why. I seem to recall a child too but that may have been no fly list.
To the Left, some databases are more equal than others
The story doesn’t say what the watch list is and what it takes to be put on the watch list.
>>> ... a report from the federal agency finds that over 2,000 individuals on the FBIââ¬â¢s terrorist watch list have indeed successfully and legally purchased a firearm from 2004 to 2014. <<<
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the feds weren’t allowed to track individuals purchasing firearms or create a registry of purchasers.
“Terrorism watch list”. Elsewhere they are saying it’s the “No-Fly list”. Major problems with this list.
1) A multitude of federal, state, and even foreign agencies can put names on this list. But *nobody* is “in charge of the list”.
2) Once names are put on the list, *nobody* can through a normal process, *remove* that name from the list.
3) The FBI maintains thick files on a vast number of people, but these are “raw files”, basically anything they can find or hear, without any substantiation, about a person. That is why these raw files are distilled to much thinner, actual, verifiable data, which is the only data the FBI is supposed to use.
However, this list is a “raw files” list. Thus anyone can be smeared by someone who hates them by putting them on the list.
Probably the vast majority of people on this list haven’t done anything wrong, or are suspected of doing anything wrong. Many people have been banned just because they shared a *name* with someone on the list, and there was no way to tell who was who.
How many “legally bought” guns have been used by terrorists lately?
So there’s a database to track them?
Accusations. Suspicions. True or not. If you find yourself on the no fly list, there is (finally) a process to get off, but its not so easy. And the burden of proof is on you.
Here we have a sample of 2,000 people for whom the terror watch list has not yet be a reliable indicator.
Given how few people who legally purchased firearms and who were on the watch list and have used those firearms in a crime of violence, I think this says more about the failed criteria for the list than anything else.
Without an illegal drivers license, the so called terrorist could not purchase a firearm!
Salon is as transparent as glass! Just another attempt to restrict firearm ownership in the United States. think about it, who gets to decide what a terrorist is and is placed on the terrorist watch list?
The liberal socialist like Salon think all white Christians are terrorist, add anti-abortionist and concealed carry Americans and the list will never end!
Don't fall for this America, this is just another bite at the disarm the American people law the socialist are demanding again!
A story from Salon, beware they are fair and balanced only 10% of the time on a good day.
Correct.
