Stephen Colbert rips apart GOP’s anti-refugee stance by quoting Bible

Stephen Colbert isn't pleased with the wall of Republicans who are against accepting Syrian refugees into the United States and the recent passing of a bill that calls for stricter vetting of refugees from Iraq and Syria. The "Late Show" host said it was the only thing he wanted to talk about post-Paris attacks.

"The question to let Syrian refugees into this country has become the new political issue, completely overshadowing the old political issue: whether to let Mexicans into this country," he said.

He brought up the lunacy of Donald Trump's joke that Syrian refugees would be very angry about going from their 130-degree heat to Minnesota's 30-degree cold. "These people are going to be very, very unhappy," the real-estate mogul said.

To which Colbert responded, "Yeah, it's a tough call for the refugees. Do I want to stay in a war zone where my family faces almost certain death? Or do I want to go somewhere where I have to put a jacket on before going to the mall?"

He then referred to President Barack Obama's statements in Manila in which he said that the Republicans who oppose the refugees seem afraid of widows and young kids. "First they were worried about the press being too tough on them during debates, now they're worried about three-year-old orphans," Obama said.

Then, Colbert joked, "Why shouldn't we be afraid of three-year-olds? You think we can't negotiate with terrorists? Try negotiating with a three-year-old. They play hardball."

The plot thickens for Colbert after Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush suggested that Christian refugees don't pose any danger. Later, Bush would have a hard time explaining what keeps Muslims from lying that they're Christians. "I think you can prove it," he said without further explanation.

Ya. Wonder if he'd think differently if a family member of his was in France during the rampage.

Liberals are all talk until it affects them personally. Besides, it made a convert out of Geraldo Rivera whose daughter was at the soccer game.

RE: It also has two core tenets: Do only that which is right

Very easy to say except for one issue — WHAT IS THEIR GUIDE AS TO WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG?

ISIS says beheading infidels is right, what tells Colbert that this is wrong?

Sorry Liberals, you don't get to throw out-of-context biblical verses at Christians while simultaneously demanding any sign of Christianity be removed because it offends you.

BIBLE VERSE QUOTED BY COLBERT (Matthew 25:35-40 ) “I was a stranger and you welcomed me in.”

So how many Syrian refugees has Colbert welcomed into his home?

John Oliver was feeling pretty smug himself on his HBO show when he was mocking those that had major concerns about the flood of refugees into Europe only a few months ago.

Of course he didn’t have the courage to own up for it after the Paris attack.

Colbert would have been wise to heed this. Of course his level of liberal smugness doesn’t allow it either.

BIBLE VERSE QUOTED BY COLBERT (Matthew 25:35-40)

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me in.”

Note to Mr. Colbert: I realize you are very likely a liberal and a Democrat, but would you open your home to 100 people unknown to you (including the much-overstated widows and three-year-olds), one of which is certainly going to kill you? I do not expect an honest answer from a delusional person like you...just hoping beyond hope that the question will shine a little light into the darkness of your thinking process.

Criminals are let out of prison to prey on American citizens because the States can't afford to keep them in prison.

American veterans are on the streets because we don't have the money for proper cares.

But we damn sure have the money to bring in the third world... yeah right.

Stephen Colbert wants the Syrian men to live on Europe's and America's taxpayer's dimes so they can get out of a hellhole... the same hellhole Stephen Colbert wants American men to go into and defend.

Hey Stephen Colbert why don't we buy uniforms for the Syrians and let them defend their own damn country? You want them to flee and be safe so our American brothers, fathers, sisters, and children can go OVER TO SYRIA to die and be maimed? Stuff your stupid 'compassion' Colbert... what a puffed up jerk. Stephen - be a hero on your own dime and time... not on ours.,

I dare him to travel to Syria and quote Bible verses. Then he’ll discover the real world and what Islam and the Syrian people are really like.

I am betting that after an experience like that, he will change his tune a bit. That is if his head is still attached to his body.

Even the devil quotes scripture.

I like the full original better.

The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!

Satan quoted Scripture out of context, too. Why wouldn’t his disciples do likewise?

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me in.” Is speaking to those who shelter and protect God’s people during the tribulation.

CBS doesn’t care about ratings.... They’ll support getting this “important” message out to the people.
