In a CNN interview this week, presidential candidate Jeb Bush said that only Middle East Christians should be granted refugee status in the U.S. (I argued in favor of this for two months prior to the Paris terrorist attacks which prompted Bushâs statement). In the midst of an otherwise good interview, however, Bush made a bizarre statement:
There are a lot of Christians in Syria that have no place now. Theyâll be either executed or imprisoned, either by Assad or by ISIS. âExecuted or imprisonedâ by Assad? This is an absurd and patently false assertion.

Lies from their Saudi masters.
Will no donor rid the political stage of this troublesome prince?
Assad treats Christians marginally better than other Islamic countries.
HOORAY Raymond Ibrahim
Like the Saudis take such good care of Christians in their own country.
Under Bashar al-Assad, the Christians had been largely unmolested by the government. it is the anti-Assad Syrians that have been so harsh on these long-established communities, and have slaughtered or driven into exile (where they are also slaughtered) a large portion of the Christian minority.
“Lies from their Saudi masters.”
Exactly.
Yup.
How much has the designated loser been promised?
He couldn't get into Yale despite qualifying for legacy admission due to his father's having gone there and having gone to one of the best prep schools in the country (Andover).
You mean the ones we are supporting. You would think we were supporting the Mooselip Brotherhood.
Pray America wakes
“On CNN, Why Did Jeb Claim That Bashar Assad Would âExecuteâ Christians?”
Two possible reasons: Because Bush is MUCH MORE ‘sophisticated’, ‘experienced’, and ‘nuanced’ than Trump when it comes to foreign policy and security, which is why the GOP ‘experts’ predicted the attacks would help Bush.
Or because Bush is a FLAMING IDIOT.
(or because Bush simply wants to lose this and forget he ever got pushed into running - which is my vote)
As it is now, Obama admin. Refuses refugee status to Christians because they are not persecuted under their gov’t Assad.
Because he’s completely ignorant of the history of that country. The Assad regime, minority Alawi Shiite, always took care to protect other minority communities in part because the Christian ones (Armenian, Maronite, Assyrian) are, or at least were, the business and professional people with foreign connections. And because they needed other minorities in line as they kept the majority Sunni (Saudi supported Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, ISIL) under the iron fist of their KGB trained security apparatus. There are no good guys but Assad and his father, for their own reasons, kept the Christians relatively safe.
“Jeb’s just not very smart.”
But he is also deceitful. Jeb can multitask. He can lie and be stupid at the same time.
Jebito’s Neocons are stale and their information is old and unreliable, especially at the pace things are changing on a daily basis.
If they want to help themselves at all they will come out against the Democratic Party Islamic Refugee Program and maybe get up to 5%.
:-)
Someone should ask Yeb if taking out Assad will protect Syrian Christians like taking out Hussein protected Iraqi Christians.
Assad is the relative best of a bunch of bad options, but he’s still bad. While the genuinely Christian refugees should be supported as much as possible, we should not be afraid of collateraly damaging them if we wish to obliterate Islam and its Muslims.
(Of course, we know that ¡Yeb!’s true sympathies lie with ISIS, and of course the LameStream media does not press him on the issue.)
To be clear, I do not support attacking or concentrating resources against Assad, but he is acceptable collateral if we kill enough Muslims.
Looks like Jebby should have a talk with Franklin Graham:
“You understand that the Syrian government for their good and for their bad over the history of this country, they have protected Christians, they have protected minorities from the Islamists.”
