Students at Occidental College who have occupied an administration building this week have demanded that campus safety officers stop wearing bulletproof vests.
The demand is one of fourteen presented to the administration by the students, who call themselves "Oxy United for Black Liberation." Other demands include the resignation of university president Jonathan Veitch, the creation of a Black Studies program, and hiring "physicians of color" to deal with injuries "associated with issues of identity."

The students have given the university until Friday to consider their demands. Meanwhile, they plan to continue occupying the three-story administration building.

OK, no vests for cops. No condoms for the shaggers.
Ship these losers off to Liberia.
No cops for the university, AND take out full page advertisements in Arabic stating this.
They are a “movement” alright...

If students aren’t allowed the vests, it seems like a reasonable demand for me. If they are allowed the vests, then it is unreasonable.
Or what? They'll hold their breath?

And the rationale for either of these suggestions is....
Fir the first, “no vests for cops”, the first “enforcer” for the rights of the protesters to show up with a couple of handguns and an AK-47 with extra magazines is just going to use the cops for target practice.
Taking condoms away from the shaggers means they will have no chewing gum for afterwards.
Can’t be afraid of catching a disease you already have.
They should each get the choice of a roomate, either an illegal Mexican or an illegal from Syria.
Oh, and no bullet proof vests for them either.
“Students demand...”? A college president with balls would call their parents and demand they come and pick up their little snowflakes...be cause they would be EXPELLED!
These spoiled youngsters are going to keep up, and intensify, their demands until someone teaches them a word their parents failed to...the word is “NO”!
Bad behavior with no consequences, equals worse behavior.
The liberal college professors’ chickens are coming home to roost.
They want a “safe space”, yet want to deny law enforcement theirs.
If they really want it:
Withdraw all law enforcement from the university, and put the area under siege. Nothing goes in, nothing comes out - including utilities.
Remove only after they surrender.

Pretty simple solution to me. if they are no longer students they have no right to be on school property, and their welcome to get in the unemployment line with their demands. It would be doing them a great service, since I don’t believe there is a whole lot future in a Black Studies degree.
How dumb. Then maybe they shouldn’t have any officers AT ALL.
I was also wondering what “or else” meant. They are still occupying that multi-story building. Cops should go in the arrest all of them and wearing bullet proof vests when they do it.
Here is why they will get what they want (except the bullet proof vests off police):
"Occidental's administration has not only tolerated the demonstrators, but praised them: "We applaud the socially conscious spirit of these students. They are bringing attention to an important movement and helping our community have a difficult but necessary conversation about race, identity and culture, it said in a statement."
Administration must be so scared they will lose their jobs, they are agreeing with these rioter students.
