Mocking Republicans over this-as liberals spent much of yesterday doing on my Twitter stream-seems absurdly out of touch to a lot of people. Not just wingnut tea partiers, either, but plenty of ordinary centrists too. It makes them wonder if Democrats seriously see no problem here. Do they care at all about national security? Are they really that detached from reality?
The liberal response to this should be far more measured. We should support tight screening. Never mind that screening is already pretty tight. We should highlight the fact that we're accepting a pretty modest number of refugees. In general, we should act like this is a legitimate thing to be concerned about and then work from there.
Mocking it is the worst thing we could do. It validates all the worst stereotypes about liberals that we put political correctness ahead of national security. It doesn't matter if that's right or wrong. Ordinary people see the refugees as a common sense thing to be concerned about. We shouldn't respond by essentially calling them idiots. That way lies electoral disaster.

Hung out with a few libs last night. All voted for Obama. They all acknowledge Obama and dems are disastrous on foreign policy. Most now see the media bias. 2 were saying how to get real news they have to look at dailymail.com.uk. 1 is a definite Trump voter, 1 more is a probably.. Maybe people are finally waking up.

Reading mainstream news sites online, I absolutely cringe when I look at the comments sections. It makes me sick to my stomach. Either this country is chock full of seriously deranged people who have been brainwashed to the point of no return, or our tax dollars are going to a massive social media/online forum astroturfing campaign the likes of which we cannot even imagine.

No, actually, the administration FINALLY admitted that the refugees being resettled have been in camps in neighboring countries for the last two years of the processing of their application.
Think about this - it takes almost waterboarding for the administration to release the most basic and relevant facts about these refugees.
Which of course leads me to suspect that they're gearing up to offer buses to the airport for those ‘pre-screened by our allies’ to head on out from Germany, France and Sweden to the US.
I mean, the only logical reason not to mention that these are actually refugees would be to allow wiggle room for the next batch.
Yep. If I ever overdose on Viagra and get one of those "longer than 4-hour" woodies, I have a "rescue" image of Hillary on hand to solve the problem. One glance and I'll be back to normal.
