Despite an increase in revenue of $1.1 billion, the U.S. Postal Service reported a net loss of $5.1 billion for Fiscal Year 2015, which ended on September 30th. [...]

... "[C]ontrollable expenses" also increased $1.3 billion, from $66.4 billion in FY2014 to $67.7 billion in FY2015. That included a 21 million increase in workhours, even though total mail volume declined from 155.5 billion pieces in 2014 to 154.2 billion pieces in 2015.

Well, let me play Devil’s advocate and DEFEND USPS (well, Im bored and tired of the same old blah blha)

people don’t realize that for online selllers on Amazon and Ebay, USPS IS THE CULPRIT why you clowns are spending less on shipping.

Ever heard of the Priority Mail envelope? It’s 5 DOLLARS and you can stick anything less than 75 pounds. You heard this right. Most of my friends who sell online on Amazon use USPS as UPS and FEDEX are ripoffs to anything less than 3 pounds. It’s FIVE TIMES that of USPS.

Funny how Freepers here have no clue that if USPS goes, so do a VAST majority of online ecommerce sellers. My bud sells fabric online and for one yard, you expect cheap ass Amazon customers to pay $10 for one yard? Seriously...

We have a small town post office. Really good people there, except one total slug and he is also a cop.

These folks do seem to spend an awful lot of money to fill my mail box with crappy catalogues and useless supermarket circulars.

When are they going to pay me for emptying out all that waste paper and cleaning up their mess?

More looting of the US Treasury.
USPS spent $5,100,000,000 more than they took in.
But the feds can’t secure out border or deport the illegals will cost too much.

We wipe them our with a “pen and a phone”. if they go postal we take them out. Pretty simple. They steal— they suck— the loaf and they are worthlessness. End them .

The only thing that is in the Constitution, per the Postal Clause (Article 1, section 8, clause 7), is Congress having the power to “establish post offices and post roads”, not to maintain same.

Jefferson was right when he predicted the interpretation of this clause being implemented far beyond what was specifically stated turning the postal service into an establishment of political patronage. Even worse, it is still tied to the executive branch, which is not in the Constitution (but is an extension of an idea by John Jay).
