Smart choice if Cruz will go for it. It would ensure his win.

Trump did NOT say he WOULD pick Cruz. To say he did is extremely overreaching. Trump said Cruz was someone, as an example, that he might consider. My guess is that this would NEVER happen as (1) Cruz has nothing to offer the ticket, (2) Cruz has positions at serious odds with Trump, and (3) Cruz is a martyr, not a winner.

Trump/Cruz, I like it. But I was thinking that the V.P. slot for Cruz would be a waste. I was thinking Cruz for Attorney General. I think people would be fleeing the country like rats.

This did not happen. I heard Trump’s interview on L. Ingraham’s show and he specifically said it was too soon to talk about VP. She was trying to get him to say.

Further, it would be bad form to single out someone who is actually running against him.

He didn’t say he WOULD, he listed Cruz as someone whom he would consider.

And I very much doubt that Cruz would be his final choice, since Cruz adds no voters (I mean, if you are a Cruz guy, are you REALLY going to vote for Hillary or stay home?), Cruz would be wasted at VP when he’s needed on the Supreme Court, and Cruz is poison to blacks and Democrats in general, where Trump is polling around 25% without him.

This is what I have been hoping for all along. We need the take-no-prisoners/git-er-done style and ability of Trump with the Constitutional grounding of Cruz. We need a Napoleon but have to hope the Napoleon stays oriented toward restoration of the Republic. Cruz has the scholarship and the memory and the principles but probably not the streak of dictator that is necessary to reverse the damage and he has shown atrocious judgment on some important issues, like TPA and the Iran deal and H-1B. The next president will be a dictator willy nilly because Congress has given up its powers to the Executive and the Court has concurred. That power cannot be given back without simply transferring the dictatorship through Congress to the Agencies, no matter the makeup of the Legislature. That dictatorship has to be used to clear away the Agencies, at least the EPA and the two DOEs and HUD and to end Civil Service. Then the states must be induced to call a Convention of States.

Those are a lot of ifs. Do I think things would fall out that way with Trump/Cruz? There is only a chance that it or something like it would eventuate but for any other combination possible with the figures running I can not see any possibility at all and Trump, even with Cruz on board, might just turn out to be Napoleon unmodified.
Whatever, Napoleon at least gave France a few more years of glory before it truly all went to pieces.

Unfortunately, this is probably all smoke anyway, because the Democrats are in position now to control the Election. Soros will count the votes for a number of states. There will be millions of new citizens voting for whoever the Democrats "run," the DoJ will be enforcing rules not permitting any ID check, eligibility questions or questions about whether a voter has already voted. In California non-citizens will vote with state protection as all with drivers' licenses are registered to vote and have been counselled to go ahead and vote. Same in Chicago with aliens who have kids in school.

I would be FIRED UP for a Trump/Cruz ticket. I would volunteer, canvas neighborhoods, man phone banks, drive the elderly to the polls-anything to help get them into the White House.

Kinda like I used to do for Republican candidates until I was certain the Republican party had left me for some kinder, gentler mushy mealy for of progressivism.

Truthfully, that might not be a good thing.

To start with, this means a minimum of four years of Cruz sitting on his thumbs, while the Republican establishment plotted to prevent him from ever becoming president. As VP, Cruz would have less practical power than even that of a senator.

As an alternative, Trump should appoint Cruz to the Supreme Court. McConnell would probably agree solely to get Cruz out of his hair.

But as a justice on the court, replacing a liberal, likely Ginsburg, he would make that entire branch of government conservative. No longer would justice Kennedy be able to play his swing vote game.

He would be on the court for decades, being only 45 years old, and because he is a brilliant legal mind, he would be very persuasive to the other justices.

So, all told, his power as a justice would rival that of being president, and last a lot longer. It would also mean that states could launch many lawsuits against the federal government that would get a favorable hearing, increasing their power at the expense of the feds.

Cruz would make an excellent VP for President Trump.

Cruz is a brilliant lawyer & great speaker/debater, a perfect fit to Trump’s economic sense & personal magnetism.

He’s backing away a little from the “I’ll go after CRUZ if he gets close to beating me” statement.

I would prefer Cruz as President and do not think a Trump/Cruz ticket is a high probabilty, but I have thought that this would work too. Trump is much more media savvy and knows how to generate national press. However, the Cruz campaign is the best organized and has the local ground game prepared. Cruz is also backed financially and Trump has made his fortune leveraging other people’s money and not burning through his own. From that sense the fit would be good. And, let’s face it, Reagan’s greatest failure was allowing the elder Bush to be forced as his running mate. It gave the whole Bush dynasty credibility when the oldest Bush should have just been allowed to fade away and take his family with him into semi-obscurity. If it does end up a Trump/Cruz ticket at least the number 2 spot would be a conservative rather that a RINO.

Tie the Liberal Press’s panties in a knot Trump/West and watch the black caucus explode. I can see the headlines already, The Billionaire and the Uncle Tom. I love Alan, I think he is the greatest, he should have been on that stage, we would have seen some real action.

BTW as an afterthought about this election, you bumper sticker people, get one of those HILLARY photos and paste “REALLY?” across it, I think it would be a winner.
