Report: German stadium evacuated after ambulance filled with explosives found

A German newspaper is reporting that a soccer match in Hannover was canceled because an ambulance full of explosives was found out front following a bomb threat.

There was no immediate confirmation of that report, though the Hannover chief of police was quoted by multiple sources as saying "there was a device intended to be detonated inside the stadium."

Think as if you were evil. It depends on the location of the bomb.

If closer to the field, fewer will be hurt than by announcing something which might make people panic (which will rack up some casualties by itself) and make people rush toward the bomb.

If the bomb is nearer an exit area bottleneck, the crowd will pack in around the bomb and it can be detonated via command or timer resulting in even more dead/wounded.

Why make the bomb threat, thought? Why not just let it blow up? Terrorists don’t make threats.

Sure they do, all of the time. In this scenario, having an ambulance full of explosives that could not get past security would be parked at a location that would be the natural avenue of evacuation. Call in the bomb threat and wait for the folks to flood by, detonate at your leisure.
