More than half the nation's governors -- 27 states -- say they oppose letting Syrian refugees into their states, although the final say on this contentious immigration issue will fall to the federal government.

States protesting the admission of refugees range from Alabama and Georgia, to Texas and Arizona, to Michigan and Illinois, to Maine and New Hampshire. Among these 27 states, all but one have Republican governors.

Remember that the White House is controlled by Chicago thugs. My guess is that Obama will retaliate by withholding federal funds.

Where do you think the money comes from to "withhold?"

D'OH!

A mere setback huh? Wonder if he had lost his own family members in an attack like that if he’d still be calling it just a “setback.” This is not how one should speak when hundreds of people are so inhumanely murdered. I read an account of one of those who made it out of the concert arena alive, they explained how people had to stay in twisted up positions and play dead for hours or else get picked off. They were afraid to breath, twitch, etc it sounded like a nightmare.

Shame on him.

Updated map and details from Top Right News...

UPDATE: Gov. Susana Martinez (R-NM) is opposed to the resettlement of Muslim migrants. Not sure why no other site includes her.

UPDATE: We have Alaska in green because the spokesperson for Gov. Bill Walker (I, former R) said he “can’t be bothered” to address this issue due to other concerns, angering many Alaskans who want him to oppose it.

UPDATE: Gov. Jay Nixon (D-MO) has refused to bar Obama’s refugees from Missouri, despite 105 of 114 counties being opposed to it.

‘...Cruz, meanwhile, has discussed sponsoring a Senate version of the Resettlement Accountability National Security Act, which would suspend the refugee resettlement program until the Government Accountability Office conducts a review, according to the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas).

Republicans are seeking to drive a wedge between Obama and congressional Democrats ahead of an election year when national security is expected to be a top concern of voters. So far, Democratic leaders have kept their ranks mostly unified, but defectors are already emerging.

Centrist Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) signed a letter sponsored by two vulnerable Republican incumbents, Sens. Mark Kirk (Ill.) and Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), urging that no refugee from the Syrian crisis be admitted to the country “unless the U.S. government can guarantee, with 100 percent assurance, that they are not members, supporters, or sympathizers of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.”

Legislation to restrict Obama’s refugee program could set up a tough vote for some Democrats, who may be forced to choose between backing their president and responding to public fears about a potential terrorist attack in the United States.

The brewing fight could become an obstacle to finishing a year-end government funding bill by Dec. 11. Republicans want to include language in the omnibus measure that would halt federal funding for resettlement.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) earlier this month wrote a letter to Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) - the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee - and ranking Democrat Barbara Mikulski (Md.), threatening to block funding for refugees until the administration crafts a comprehensive national security plan.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), the chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, said Congress should cancel what he called the “blank check” for refugee resettlement in the omnibus.

“Under current admissions policies, we can be expected to resettle another nearly 700,000 migrants from Muslim countries over the next five years,” Sessions wrote....”

Walker spokeswoman Katie Marquette said by email that Walker has been focused on solving the state’s $3.5 billion deficit and hasn’t given consideration to trying to stop Syrian refugees from settling in Alaska.

And the effect on Alaska's deficit will be? HAH!

CAIR Slams Governors As ‘Un-American’ For Refusing To Import Syrians

The Saudi-funded, terror-tied Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is slamming Republican Governors over their efforts to oppose the import of refugees from Syria into the United States.....

"Defeating ISIS involves projecting American ideals to the world. This un-American rejection of refugees, who will face significant security checks prior to entry, sends entirely the wrong message. Governors who reject those fleeing war and persecution abandon our ideals and instead project our fears to the world."

Simultaneously, CAIR has engaged in a social media campaign titled, "#TerrorismHasNoReligion," with the goal of distancing Islam from the Islamic State terror group.

"CAIR is waging a campaign to stifle any reference to the Islamist ideology that drove the Islamic State attack on Paris," read analysis from The Investigative Project On Terrorism..........."

Validation for mass deportation of muslims is before your very eyes. Either do it, or we are going to have a war.

This whole Syrian refugee scenario- is designed to enable, Our President of the United States, to declare full-on Martial Law. This has been goal ONE, since DAY ONE. You will never regret, anything more- than what is about to happen.

As I look at that map (I love maps) there’s one block of color that really stands out. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MISSOURI? Can you imagine if displaced “refugees” with paperwork that says they’re law-abiding, peaceloving fighting age males from Syria mix it up with the Ferguoson crowd or get enrolled at MissouriU? What a blend of ideologies that would be!

DETROIT (AP) - Several U.S. governors are threatening to halt efforts to allow Syrian refugees into their states in the aftermath of the coordinated attacks in Paris, though immigration experts say under the Refugee Act of 1980 governors cannot legally block refugees from settling in their communities.

Here’s a look at where some state governors stand, and the number (in parentheses) of Syrian refugees who have arrived in each state since Jan. 1, according to the U.S. State Department’s Refugee Processing Center:

MISSOURI (29)

Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon says it’s up to the federal government to screen refugees and is calling for safeguards following deadly terror attacks in Paris. But in a statement Monday, Nixon didn’t say he’d block Syrian refugees from settling in Missouri. Three Republican candidates for governor want Nixon to do so, citing safety concerns.

Question to Obama: What do they bring to improve America?

COMMENT: They bring nothing good, but a lot of bad, poverty, and illness. We have enough of that already.

http://www.citylab.com/politics/2013/02/why-are-there-so-many-bosnians-st-louis/4668/

“.......South St. Louis is also the site of a much more recent influx of European immigration. Starting in the mid-1990s, after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia and the horrific war that accompanied it, Bosnians began to move to St. Louis in such large numbers that there are now more Bosnians per capita in St. Louis than anywhere else outside Bosnia. Formerly German neighborhoods are now home to Bosnian-owned cafes and restaurants with such barely pronounceable names as Grbic.

Nearly smack in the middle of the country, marked by decades of population decline, and hard-hit by the nationwide slump in manufacturing, the St. Louis metro area is not a natural destination for immigrants. It is among the lowest-ranked of large metro areas for percentage of foreign-born population. At the same time, St. Louis ranks among the highest metropolitan areas in terms of percentage of refugees, in part because of its Bosnian population, and it has been resettling an increasing proportion of refugees admitted to the U.S. since 2000.

In a city that otherwise continues to leak population, refugees have a noticeable impact. As reporter D.J. Wilson summarized in a 2003 profile of St. Louis’s Bosnian community:............”

“Slamming the door in their faces would be a betrayal of our values.” - Obama.

OUR VALUES???????? What Mr. President exactly are YOUR values??? Yes, in normal times, America has not shunned immigrants but, Mr. President, maybe you haven’t noticed but your buddies in the Muslim Brotherhood Jihad Movement declared war on the country you supposedly run and have sworn to protect.
