As to bond, under Texas law following a federal lawsuit, bond must be given. It can be ridiculously high but bond has to be given.
Sounds like a nutcase with a feud against the neighbor.

Sheesh, own a gun people and know how to use it.
Most likely drugs, I’d say. Sounds like the victims had recently purchased that property. Maybe the killer was using the property to grow pot or cook meth or something, and they discovered it. Or he could have been poaching on the property & was confronted. Hopefully, he does not have the means to bond out.
