GREENSBORO, NC –Greensboro police are asking residents to show their commitment to safety by signing a Pledge of Non-violence on Saturday.
Police said that anyone 18 years or older can anonymously turn in as many guns as they want at this event.

I would show my commitment to safety by signing a Pledge of Non-violence, except that I am a pacifist who (almost) never engages in violence, so that is unnecessary. So long as no one attacks me or forces their way into my home, I would never participate in violence.
As for guns, I am too much of a pacifist to turn them in. I hate violence, and if someone initiates violence, the pacifist in me wants to end that violence at 830 fps or faster. It’s a shame France didn’t have any armed pacifists in that theater. Even with an AK, I would not want to face a skilled pistol marksman at close range.
What about knives?
