I know what you're saying here but I remember during the Brooklyn pogrom back in the 90s, a Daily News journalist (might have been Jimmy Breslin) was badly beat up and blamed himself for daring to enter oppressed people's streets. So, no, even if they are directly attacked, they will not blame the perp. They're mentally ill and a huge part of the problem.
