Polls can be deceiving, but money talks. According to fundraising, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is the frontrunner in the GOP presidential race. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson have raked in the cash from big and small donors, respectively, but only Ted Cruz has both a strong and balanced appeal.
At this point in the presidential race, the money a candidate has raised, and from whom, may be a stronger indicator of longevity than his or her position in the âhorse raceâ polls. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry had a rich super PAC, but his lack of grassroots support, which translated to an inability to raise money from small donors, killed his campaign. A majority of his former donors â along with those of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker â have flocked to Cruz.
Ted Cruz ranks second in overall GOP fundraising to Ben Carson, and second in total dollars (including super PACs) to Jeb Bush. His ratio of low-dollar to high-dollar donors is healthy, and despite his enmity with the Republican Partyâs establishment, he has a surprisingly high number of endorsements from elected officials.
Fundraising Balance is Critical to Presidential Campaigns
i’m not even gonna waste my time on this crap again...talking to a brick wall with some of you
No, I don’t believe you.
“Your theory is Cruz is the leader because he is second in raising money to Ben Carson. Interesting....Trump is in the process of shooting himself in the foot which will only strengthen Ben Carson. I do think Ted Cruz will come in second if he can beat the Establishment candidate Rubio.”
Get back to us in 60 days! Personally, I am of the opinion that Carson will be out of the running by then. He just has too much baggage. Plus he’s an amnesty guy, which is a non-starter with most folks today. The frontrunner will be either Trump or Cruz.
Trump is in the process of shooting himself in the foot which will only strengthen...Trump.
There. Fixed it.
No, he just supported the mechanism for making it happen so he could vote “against it” and still look anti-TPP.
... ignoring that Cruz supported Obamaâs TPP and Iran deal
**************************
More lies about Cruz. He voted against both. He voted for the TPA because that permits fast tracking which will be useful to the next Conservative President.
Cruz supporting the Iran deal is an ABSOLUTE lie. He has spoken out against it constantly, fought it wholeheartedly, and vowed to tear up the Iran agreement on day one of his presidency. Even Trump won’t promise to tear it up.
You’re a really low piece of scum for spreading such false propaganda and personally I think it should be grounds for being banned from this forum.
What’s the difference? Trump has said he’ll let all “good” illegals back in with full citizenship right after they exit the revolving door on his wall. Cruz has at the very least spoken out against EVER giving any current illegals citizenship.
Slight correction, Trump has said the good illegals can come back, but hasn’t specified whether they would become full citizens or not. The implication seems to be he will expedite them legally immigrating here like any other immigrant and would therefore potentially receive citizenship.
The Corker bill passed the Senate 98 to 1.
If you think the government is that much against you, and that 98 Senators support the Iran deal, you should probably move out because the country is lost.
Either that, or you’re clueless about what the Corker bill actually meant.
If Cruz is the nominee, know this. He will get virtually no Democrat crossover vote. No black vote. Less Independent and Hispanic vote than Romney did. I suspect a significant % of Trump voters will not vote at all. Cruz is a politician and people who are yearning for results that change the status quo no longer trust them.....for good reason.
Cruz supported Obama’s Iran deal by giving him the ability to put it through with minimum votes. Hypocritical of him to later criticize Obama for it. If he really opposed it, he should have opposed it. Same with TPP. Cruz is a lying hypocrite. A hack politician. Poorly dressed. Can’t get that pic out of my mind of him with Trump a while back—ill fitting suit which made him look comical. That was the beginning of the end for Cruz.
These are a bit inconvenient to the few people still supporting Cruz. Hypocritical of Cruz to do this and then criticize the results. What did he expect would happen?!
If I am not mistaken, much the same was said about Reagan.
Be he did O.K....
Same here - support Cruz and FR:
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
Don't know how you can call that a dry run.
Different era, much different circumstances.
Really? Pretty much everybody knew Reagan would pick up crossover votes from conservative Democrats who were fed up with Carter.
Between Southerners who were fed up with Carter and Northerners who didn't like him to begin with there were a lot of crossover votes for Reagan to get.
This time around there aren't any more conservative Democrats and moderate Democrats aren't going to vote for Ted Cruz.
He has a lot less baggage as you call it than Donald Trump who has declared bankruptcy multiple times which if he does with the United States will throw this country into a fiscal crisis like has never been seen. He is not pro constitution as he has used the unconstitutional Kelo vs. New London decision to acquire real estate. If you are believing the lame stream media on his baggage then you are a fool.
Stay in your dream world if you want but attacking Ben Carson and calling Iowans stupid is not going to do anything but hurt Trumps chances. I actually pray he figures that out because Republicans shouldn’t be aiding the Dumbocrats.
