Now he against H1b increase, I still am skeptical of him though for the time being, only time will tell.
The H1B visa program should be amended to force companies who replace American workers with cheap H1Bs to pay the displaced workers a full 2 years pay with full benefits.
Ted flip flops to get on the correct side of the issue.
Fair enough. This was his remaining weakness to conservatives and populists to my knowledge. Better to correct a mistake than leave it hanging.
Now, will certain FReepers allow a correction, or hang him by it?
Nice to know.
Go, Cruz, GO!
Thank you Senator Cruz! H1B is nothing more than foreign out-sourcing by bringing the foreigners here, while claiming to be keeping the jobs in America. Go in ANY medium to large IT shop and you'll find that it is staffed mostly with (East) Indians. Don't believe the argument that there are no qualified Americans.
His call to raise the cap was turned down by the gang of 8 for a reason.
They knew it wouldn’t actually lead to an increase in the numbers because it was tied raising wages for imported labor to equal what domestic labor makes. Penalties for hiring foreign labor would be increased by thousands of dollars per employee etc.
Ping.
It looks like he finally saw the light.
Sessions is in the background on this, so good will come of it.
Anyone happen to check the encyclopedia length TPP to see if he’s against it now that it is in our trade deal?
Ted is coming around to Trumps view on this. From Casablanca.
“Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
He lost his own debate....Amusing....
For later to observe the conservative circular firing squad in its full glory.....
It wasn’t 2013. It was a few months ago. If he’s really changed his position, great, lets hear his new one.
Cruz is by far the best candidate available. His stance on H1B has not changed; it has been misrepresented.
A year ago he was against deportations. Where does he stand now?
The program as it is now is supposed to protect American workers but the corporations just ignore the law as there are no consequences.
Personally I view this as a successful education campaign of Sen Cruz by the conservative voters. Good for Cruz!
Sadly, Carson has gone the other way.
He also needs to tell us what it means to “streamline legal immigration”. I heard the interview with Ingraham and he still sounds like he favors high, or even higher legal immigration.
Immigration issues have been his weakness along with his voting for TPA, the vote that required 60 to pass, and now he has reservations about TPP after helping its eventual passage over the 60 vote hurdle.
The Trump Effect reaches the true conservative.
Well, OK, there was a small hole in that conservative belief.
