I wouldn’t call it McCarthyite. I would call the Missouri movement Stalinist.
They shut down the media (no claims of national security).
They purged those who were not politically correct.
The whole thing was based upon a lie.
I like that, right out of the box, Horowitz goes to the philosophical movement involved.
Cultural Marxism/PC/Critical Theory have derived much of their power from the fact that non-academics—i.e., most people—are fooled by the notion that it’s all about “hurt feelings,” “sensitivity,” and “not giving offense.” I don’t know how many times I’ve heard people say, “Nobody wants to offend people, but I think this whole P.C. thing has gotten out of hand.”
That’s not what has happened. Nothing has “gotten out of hand.”
What has happened is that Cultural Marxism/P.C./Critical Theory is Marxism, and has been advancing for about 90 years. It’s Marxist totalitarian Communism. And the Democrat party is a Communist party.
The world is divided between the Asleep—who think Communism ended with the “collapse” of the Soviet Union—and the Awake, who understand that the U.S. Government has been Marxist for fifty years, with a SLIGHT, PARTIAL respite in the 1980’s.
Obama is both a Marxist and a Muslim terrorist. And every major Democrat politician is a Marxist and a tool of the jihad.

<>But the time is also getting late to reverse the tide.<>
Article V while we can.
How quickly we forget that the Muslim Brotherhood had its start hand in glove with the Nazi Party, that they gained strength under it as fellow travelers.
Islam is in it for Islam, now, having gained the strength of trillions of dollars in oil sales, but the totalitarians think they are using Islam to be the brownshirts for their new movement. It remains unclear who is using who, but for now this ungodly alliance is trying to eliminate all things American, for whatever reason suits the particular faction.
Certainly, individual liberty is low on both aspects cherished list, including speech, thought, history, religious belief (other than the approved ones), morality (except their twisted versions), and life itself.
The last line to be crossed will be when the government tries to seize personal weaponry.
I only pray we are still free enough to organize and not so programmed with stupidity we surrender, no matter how that is cloaked.
Glad to see someone is saying it.
Really. McCarthy was nothing of the sort. He was more than willing to allow people appearing in front of his committees as much time as they needed to make their case, even when it was contrary. But he did have his limits, as he all should have.
Horowitz isn’t quite recovered from his blinding liberalism. Didn’t read after his McCarthy reference.
