Certainly showing how it’s done. Gingrich and Perry failed to qualify in 2012, gross errors by both campaigns.

On time and under-budget!

Not to nit pick...but that is not so...

In his best seller.."The Art of the Deal"

He is always:

Under Budget and Ahead of Schedule.

And in again this case...according to the article:

Donald Trump is the first Republican candidate to submit signatures for "pre-check" review by the RPV and are ready for submission to the State Board of Elections, well ahead of the December 10, 2015 deadline.

I’m collecting signatures for Ted. I have not heard from his campaign about this for quite a while, which leads me to believe they have it under control.

Only 5000 are required in VA.

Of course the $100m head start he got from his father didn’t hurt. :-)

Neither did the fact that he learned so much from his very successful father. Apple, tree. Fred Trump did an excellent job mentoring him. It will be great to win!!

Is this the state that requires 5,000 signatures? Iirc Trump collected over 15,000. Not just early but over requirements and I’ll bet under budget!

There is a difference between being conservative and being better than a Democrat and being better than GOPe. This isn’t a jab at Trump - I support him over anyone else - more of “expectation setting”. He’s not going to follow every Conservative position. If anyone expects him to toe every Conservative position they are going to be disappointed.

That said, I think he’s the best man for the job.

Forgive me if I misread your intent here.

It seems like you’re implying that because I’m saying Trump isn’t 100% conservative that I believe some other candidate (Cruz) is. I’m not saying that at all.

I am saying exactly what I said “Trump does not check every Conservative box”. Nothing more than that.

I’ll add here: If you expect Trump to check every Conservative box you’re probably going to be disappointed. That said, he’s still the best man for the job.

If Trump, as President, succeeds in resolving the illegal immigration problem according to his plan, he will have done more to save the Republic than anyone in living memory. If we do not change the direction we are heading we will not only never have another conservative President; we will never have another President who is not a Democrat.

By some standards Reagan was no conservative either. Trump’s two policy books and his support of Reagan in the 80s and his over all political pragmatism still shows tow things: 1) his principles are overall conservative and 2) he will be better than any dem or GOPe

One lesson learned from the implosion of Scott Walker: if you don't have lots of your own money, you will need to depend on big-money donors in your initial campaign, and you will have to have your positions reflect their demands. Currently the big money Repub donors want immigration.

Walker's campaign died among conservatives when he started making pro-amnesty noises.

Just a thought. Trump collected those signatures at his very well attended rallies. Easy peasy — since there are so many enthusiastic in attendance. The others with so few at their events not as easy.

That’s a distinction when you’re in it, to win it.

A politician, on the other hand, whether they win or lose, ‘wins’ power and taxpayer $$....so they don’t really care.
