Racial Tensions Build Among Ithaca College Students, Administration

According to Recckio [ed. president of Ithaca College’s Student Government Association], problems first surfaced during Residential Advisor training at the start of this year when RAs reported racial aggression by Public Safety officers.

At the training session, Officer Terry O’Pray reportedly stated that racial profiling does not occur at Ithaca College. Officer Jon Elmore showed RAs various weapons, and when he showed a black BB gun, he said he would shoot anyone he saw with one on campus, according to The Ithacan, Ithaca College’s student newspaper.

The second event involved two alumni who made racially insensitive remarks about another black alumna at a college event, Blue Sky Kickoff on Oct. 8, according to The Ithacan.

In an open letter to The Ithacan, Ithaca College Faculty wrote, “we were distressed and offended by the fact that one of the guest speakers, Tatiana Sy ’09, was repeatedly called ‘the savage’ by another guest speaker, Chris Burch ’76.”

Burch referred to Sy as “the savage” after she made a comment about her “savage hunger,” referring to her ambition.

The faculty pointed out that this phrase, which they said they found offensive, was also used by the moderator, Bob Kur ’70.

“Although Burch and Kur seemed unaware of the racist and sexist implications of referring to Sy, who is African-American, in this way, others in the room were not,” the Ithaca College Faculty wrote.

The third and final event occurred on Oct. 9 when unaffiliated fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Pi, sent out Facebook invitations to their themed party, “Preps & Crooks.”

Daniella Resto ’18 said in article in The Ithacan she felt that this theme and its suggested dress code represented an attack on the minority community.

“...when RAs reported racial aggression by Public Safety officers.”

Can’t have that.

The Commie left destroying colleges, one school at a time. They are no longer places to LEARN, they are nothing more than indoctrination centers

I work at Ithaca College. It’s really amusing that the PC monster has turned on it’s master. The IC administration has been coddling all of the “special snowflakes” for years...... get out the popcorn.

Do you have any intel on the leaders, organizers, or members of “People of Color at Ithaca College”?

This is some of the unintentionally funniest s*** I have ever seen. This is why Trump, and now Cruz, will be crushing everyone else. The emo emperors are nekkid!

It all started last year with the student government & claims of “microagressions” and “unconcious biases”. This P.O.C. stuff seems to be co-ordinated from afar by social media. Look for it to happen at colleges all across the country soon.

P> I think we need to look at this in a deeper light.

This is a purposely propagandized political movement to manufacture.

There are Democrat Party political operatives actively stoking this fake racism on Social Media. Black Lives matters, the MO college campus etc are being staged.

I don’t know how many of you have teenagers but my teenagers are upset almost daily but this Instagram or Snap Chat or Facebook posting about this or that supposed racial attack. Once this crap is posted, it goes viral almost instantly

Look the Left needs their voter base fired up in 2016. The bulkwork of Democrat votes is the Black vote. They won in 2008 and 2012 by turning our record number of black votes. In 2016 they have NO candidates who appeal to that voter block. The Leftist machine must find a way to fire up that base. These fake racists attacks are the tool they are using.

We need some investigative reporters to start digging hard into this. I suspect you will find that these racist reports are being purposefully fed into social media by a very very few sources

Very good analysis - no reason not to believe that this is exactly what is happening!

You have to be also aware that the faculty, staff & students of Ithaca College all despise IC’s president, Tom Rochon - but for different reasons. The students, for his supposed indifference to alleged “racisms”, the faculty for his heavy handed approach to academic matters & the staff, for basically being an ass. All this has led to a call of “no confidence” towards him. It all means bupkis unless the board of trustees agrees.
