I say this as a lifelong, HUGE college football fan: if bigtime college football (and basketball, too, for that matter) ceased to exist tomorrow, America would be better off.

I think we need to look at this in a deeper light.
This is a purposely propagandized political movement to manufacture “racismâ€. There are Democrat Party political operatives actively stoking this fake “Racism†on Social media. Black Lives matters, the MO college campus etc are being staged.
I don’t know how many of you have Teenagers but my teenagers are upset almost daily but this Instagram or Snap Chat or Facebook posting about this or that supposed racial attack. Once this crap is posted, it goes viral almost instantly
Look the Left needs their voter base fired up in 2016. The bulkwork of Democrat votes is the Black vote. They won in 2008 and 2012 by turning our record number of black votes. In 2016 they have NO candidates who appeal to that voter block. The Leftist machine must find a way to fire up that base. These fake “racists†attacks are the tool they are using.
We need some investigative reporters to start digging hard into this. I suspect you will find that these “racist reports†are being purposefully fed into social media by a very very few sources

Maybe if the football and basketball players are paid, the universities can stop pretending that they are bona-fide students, and just consider them hired hands, like janitors. (My apologies to those student-athletes who are actually legitimate students.)

Years ago, Dr. Gary North predicted that the radical left would capture America with the insane and human nature denying goal of “transforming†it into an egalitarian unicorn and rainbow Utopia by “capturing the ROBESâ€. By that, he meant those institutions we granted various levels of authority over us and our affairs: The clergy, the judges... and the ACADEMICS.
The roots of the problems in academia flow back to something referred to as the Frankfurt School and their 1935 move to COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY and the spread of Marxist thought (now there’s an oxymoron for ya’!) into every area of learning here.
A prime example of the rot now endemic in the academy is the COLUMBIA SCHOOL OF “JOURNALISMâ€. It is THE premier center for spreading Marxism here in America and it has been incredibly successful in its destruction of traditional and American values. Not only do its direct graduates permeate the media here, but many of them also double as teachers in lesser known institutions of media instruction. Herein lies the genesis of Limbaugh’s descriptive expression “Driveby Mediaâ€. Now you know why virtually every so-called “journalist†HATES folks like us.

Isn’t it fascinating that here is an early instance of a Marxist ANTI-CAPITALIST organization financing itself with the hated PROFITS of a capitalist business? The hypocrisy is mind-boggling.
More recent examples of that dichotomy would be the offspring of John D. Rockefeller who have largely spent their lives promoting socialism (using other people’s money, of course). And recently Bill Gates treated us to the wisdom that only SOCIALISM can solve the woes of this world. What these folks refuse to acknowledge that even THEY do not possess sufficient personal wealth to make a dent in those woes if the recipients of that largess are incapable of sustaining themselves once the largess stops flowing or is exhausted.
If one examines the life of Karl Marx, we find a bum who abandoned his wife and family to advance the socialist struggle and never worked or dirtied his hands at day in his life. That sort of thing was for the bourgeoisie, not such an exalted personage as himself. His guilt over that abandonment probably explains Karl’s fondness for state welfare paid for by the labor of others so that his abandoned family wouldn’t perish (not that a mensch like Karl gave a rat’s ass).
