Trump's Immigration Solution: Bring Back Controversial 'Operation Wetback'

On Tuesday night's Republican presidential debate and again on Wednesday morning, GOP candidate Donald Trump touted the controversial 1950s "Operation Wetback" program as a way of dealing with the nation's approximately 11 million immigrants currently without legal status. Under the Eisenhower program, immigrants inside the U.S. were rounded up and deported to remote places, resulting in deaths and criticism of human rights abuses.
On NPR Wednesday morning, conservative Republican Alfonso Aguilar slammed Trump's comments.
"The Eisenhower mass deportation policy was tragic," said Aguilar. "Human rights were violated, people were removed to remote locations without food and water, there were many deaths,sometimes U.S. citizens of Hispanic origin were removed, it was a travesty, it was terrible. To say it's a success story, it's ridiculous."

I’ve never even heard of this clown. Guess they had to dig up some GOPe RINO and label this talking burrito a ‘conservative’ . If you’re for amnesty, you ain;t conservative.

The point is, it can be done. You just make up your mind to do it, and quit the navel-gazing. Just do it.
Build the fence. Enforce the law. Let the chips fall where they call. This is not that complicated.
Nobody is calling for rounding up immigrants. Just enforce the laws, make it financially very dangerous to employ illegals and they will go home. Put a few landscape contractors and McDonalds operators in jail and fine them enormously, the employers will get the message.

To demonrats and illegals, I believe it was extremely popular with the American people. Aw those were the days, open Patriotism, pride in America and the American Flag, Respect for Christianity and legitimate religions. God how far we have fallen!

Part of the reason there was so many issues was the poor communication and information network.
Today, we can confirm citizenship and safely deport much more easily.

There will be no need to round em up and ship em back like Operation Wetback. Like you say crack down on employers AND cut off the welfare to illegals, they will self-deport.
This is an NBC hit piece. All Trump was trying to convey was the fact that Ike was able to remove 1.5 million illegals. I just love how these Marxist sycophants allways gravitate to how “inhuman” trying to remove people who are here illegally is. There is never anything about the multipoint damage they are doing. We are the “world’s policeman,” and the “world’s chump in taking the world’s great unwashed masses.”
Somehow we have an “obligation” to keep taking and paying for the world’s trash. There is never any suggestion that the countries (notably Mexico) who look the other way (or abet) while their people leave, have any responsibility for the conditions that are the forcing function for the movement of their people to the US. And lastly there’s the Catholic Church, which preys on the simple people of the world tellng them that birth control is a sin. Mexico should have a “one child” policy but what the hell, just let em procreate and send the excess to America!

They don’t have to wait to be deported - they’re free to leave on their own!
