There’s a good reason protesters at the University of Missouri didn’t want the media around
Washington Post ^ | 11/11/15 | Terrell Jermaine Starr

These student protesters were not a government entity stonewalling access to public information or a public official hiding from media questions. They were young people trying to create a safe space from not only the racism they encounter on campus, but the insensitivity they encounter in the news media. In the outsized conversation that erupted about First-Amendment rights, journalists drowned out the very message of the students Tai was covering.

Even with this revelation, the media twits will spin this as a man with a conscience who is devoted to easing the suffering of the poor.

...the very message of the students Tai was covering.

A false message of rampant racism, supported by kids on athletic scholarships, minority scholarships, anything but scholastic scholarships!

So have it in a private place, not on public land open to everyone including the press!

Problem solved.

Gee that was easy

In a sane world, they’d be sent home where they can safely clutch their pearls and cry into their hankies on fainting couches until they’re ready for college.

They were young people trying to create a safe space...

These little darlings are afraid of their own flippin' shadows. Perhaps Hillary could use this excuse - "I had a private server in order to create a safe space for my shakedowns."

Rich black students are stigmatized by hearing that the KKK is nearby even though it’s bullcrap

While white poor people are privileged and powerful even though they see black people targeting and attacking other white people.

affirmative action in college entrance

a lot of people too stupid to be attending college

You either protect your ears or your mouth. You don’t get both. Historically we have chosen the mouth — speech. Switching to ears is problematic in that it is subjective — depends on who is doing the listening.

Sad. Freedom was nice while it lasted.

It is all a “dog and pony” show—pure agitprop, no different than Pravda——as stated by Solzhenitsyn in 1978 at his Harvard Commencement Speech.

We have not *heard* truth for decades——we have allowed the Soros-meme to shape MSM opinion and politics and control the minds of our children for DECADES and bribe all the politicians and “judges”-—and is why we have an evil socialist government today with a small, elite ruling class (who are exempt from THEIR rules and “Laws” who regulate and control us to DEATH (V.A.) as they and their chil’ren make 60,000 dollars an hour-—paid for by the taxpayers. They put in evil law—a Vice System which is unconstitutional-—and they have gotten away with it because of a completely corrupt “free” (lol) press.

It is time to take the narrative back and get to the TRUTH and END cronyism/nepotism. The truth will set us free.

P.S. And WHY do we NOT see obama’s college transcripts????????? We need to be informed of the TRUTH. Why aren’t ALL journalists demanding the release of his transcripts since his announcement for President??????????? Truth is the object of the FREE PRESS. (Follow the money!!!—Who paid for obama’s education??? Who is his puppet-master????)

THE TRUTH WILL SET US FREE.

Certainly, Tai – like any journalist – had a legal right to enter the space, given that it was in a public area. But that shouldn’t be the end of this story. We in the media have something important to learn from this unfortunate exchange. The protesters had a legitimate gripe: The black community distrusts the news media because it has failed to cover black pain fairly.

1. Yes, the journalist's legal right to enter the public space in order to cover and document the public protest should not have been the "end of this story," because it should not have been part of the story. The only reason it became part of the story is because the protestors denied him that right, and physically prevented him from exercising it. Don't want the press to become the story? Don't make the press the story.

2. The press has no obligation to cover "black pain"--or anything else--"fairly," because "fairness" is often entirely subjective. The press has the obligation to cover stories objectively and accurately. If the protestors view an objective and accurate report as "unfair," then, well, that's on them.

Is this satire?

I think that it is Sarte, or possibly Camus.

What passes for western civilization gets Stranger (and stranger).

College campuses used to be a place that challenged your thoughts and beliefs but not have become a place where the fragile egos of liberal kids are protected from the harsh world and your prejudices are reinforced.

“Where’s the barf alert?”

My question also.

This is a manufactured crisis, designed and built by professional agitators. I fully expect things like this to mushroom with a Republican president.

This is a warm-up.
