The big winners (and one big loser) at Milwaukee GOP debate
Fox News.com ^ | November 11, 2015 | Erick Erickson

First, Fox Business is a big winner. This debate is what all the other debates should have been. The questions were substantive, the candidates had time, and the moderators did not try to be the stars of the show. It was really well done and informative.

On the stage, Rubio and Cruz continued to shine. Cruz, again, did not get the most speaking time, but he made every word count. When Rand Paul seemed to get the better of Marco Rubio in an exchange on spending for defense, Cruz came back and devastated both. Cruz took on the ridiculous sugar subsidy, which Rubio supports, and used it as a way to beat Paul on isolationism.

If Cruz and Rubio tied, Fiorina came in after them. She had a commanding performance, to the point that Trump called her out for rudely interrupting.

Is there some problem with Trump calling out Fiorina or in fact any of the candidates calling out any others for being rude and interrupting?

I’m not inclined to believe any analysis by Fox News of the event. They no longer speak for me. I do agree with them on the commendable performance of Fox Business Network and the moderators.

Interesting that in a debate on economics there was not one mention of the debt ceiling issue.

It was no different than Bush sarcastically thanking Trump for allowing him to speak when it was Kasich that insisted upon answering every question, whether directed at him or not.

We women can’t have it both ways. The Women’s Movement insists on getting treated same as men . . until it comes to a debate. Hypocrisy.

The CNBC debate was supposed to be about the economy. The moderators didn't mention the economy once, but instead attacked the candidates.

The moderators did exactly what they said they would do.

They even let the candidates discuss between them. This is how a debate should be imho.

“We women can’t have it both ways. The Women’s Movement insists on getting treated same as men . . until it comes to a debate. Hypocrisy.”

Kasich interrupted just as much. If Trump had called out both Fiorina and Kasich no one would have said anything. He just reinforced a stupid media theme.

In sports it’s called an unforced error.

And it will hurt at the margin with undecided primary voters, particularly female ones.

This whole thing was just a set up by Erickson to trot out and try to justify stabbing Trump with his closing remark That is all.
