Melissa Click shut herself in her university office on Tuesday afternoon and could be heard sobbing through the door.
A day earlier, the communications professor at the University of Missouri had helped lead a multitude of activists form a circle hundreds of yards long to block reporters from a tent encampment on Mizzou's Carnahan Quadrangle, following the resignation of University of Missouri President Timothy M. Wolfe.
A video that went viral Monday evening showed Click calling out for "muscle" to help remove a student journalist from the area.
Click emerged from her office around 5 p.m. Tuesday and released a statement apologizing for her actions. She said she had contacted the journalists involved to also apologize, and regretted that she had shifted attention from the "students' campaign for justice."
"From this experience I have learned about humanity and humility," Click said.

Statement by Melissa Click, Assistant Professor of the Department of Communication, Regarding Carnahan Quad Protests
COLUMBIA, Mo. – “Yesterday was an historic day at MU—full of emotion and confusion. I have reviewed and reflected upon the video of me that is circulating, and have written this statement to offer both apology and context for my actions. I have reached out to the journalists involved to offer my sincere apologies and to express regret over my actions. I regret the language and strategies I used, and sincerely apologize to the MU campus community, and journalists at large, for my behavior, and also for the way my actions have shifted attention away from the students’ campaign for justice.
From this experience I have learned about humanity and humility. When I apologized to one of the reporters in a phone call this afternoon, he accepted my apology. I believe he is doing a difficult job, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to speak with him. His dignity also speaks well to the Journalism program at MU. Again, I wish to express my sincere apology for my actions on Carnahan Quad yesterday.â€

Crying remorsefully because she shat on journalism?
Or because she got caught?
If she’s a true liberal, it is the latter.
She doesn’t have tenure? She’s gone.
Her excuse will be that she was overcome with FEELINGS and therefore cannot be held accountable and the evil photographer should have known that she was very EMOTIONAL and stopped bullying her (taking pictures).

The reason she is crying is she is out of a job with no usable skills. Reality is a harsh Mistress.

From the video I saw, it looked like she touched him in a moment of anger. Is that not assault and battery? She should be in jail, not sobbing in her office coming up with a phony apology.
If they don’t fire her, fine.
That will just serve as yet another illustration of the total corruption that is todays university.
