Team Jeb Bush Prepares to Hand Ted Cruz the Republican Nomination
Red State ^ | November 10, 2015 | Eric Erickson

Posted on 11/10/2015 2:03:37 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"As revenge for their 'boy' becoming his own man, Mike Murphy intends to destroy Sen. Marco Rubio."

Here is something you need to know to this morning - Jeb Bush's Super PAC ads have been terrible. They have not helped Jeb Bush at all. In fact, more Republican primary voters say they would never vote for Jeb Bush than say the same about Donald Trump.

Here is something else you should know - Team Bush premised his strategy on keeping Sen. Marco Rubio out of the race. Bush announced early that he intended to run, then stockpiled his Super PAC before having to cut off ties when formally announced, then saw Sen. Marco Rubio still get in. They are bitterly angry at Sen. Marco Rubio because they see his as a young, upstart Hispanic boy ungrateful to his patrician masters and they want to payback their "boy."

For many of Mr. Bush's longest-serving advisers, Mr. Rubio's run is a personal betrayal: Mr. Bush backed Mr. Rubio's bid for House speaker in Florida and persuaded important donors to endorse him for Senate. A few of Mr. Bush's supporters have taken to calling Mr. Rubio "Judas."

Leading this effort for Team Bush is Mike Murphy, who has decided to drop up to $20 million attacking Sen. Marco Rubio for being a conservative pro-lifer.

You read that right. Murphy's genius plan is to go nuclear on Sen. Marco Rubio in states that have a moderate to liberal GOP voter influence and crush Rubio for being pro-life and conservative.

In an attempt to blunt Mr. Rubio's appeal against a Democratic nominee, Mr. Murphy recently showed some Republicans a video portraying Mr. Rubio as too extreme on abortion. A longtime opponent of abortion rights, Mr. Rubio said in a debate in August that he had "never advocated" laws that would allow abortions, even in cases of rape or incest.

Mr. Murphy has privately said to several people that Right to Rise would be ready to devote up to $20 million to fighting Mr. Rubio, according to several people told of the conversations.

The effect of this will be to hand Sen. Ted Cruz the Republican nomination. Cruz is consolidating conservative support and is going to get a huge bounce into the SEC Primary on March 1st where he will have Texas, plus Georgia and other southern states before Rubio and Bush even get to Florida to battle it out. This effort by Murphy will just hurt Rubio in later states with sizable establishment leaning votes when Rubio needs to overcome the early Cruz lead.

Mike Murphy has built a machine to get Jeb Bush elected and cannot get it done. More and more Republican voters have decided they will never, ever support Jeb Bush. The Bush Super PAC ads have done nothing to boost Bush's popularity. As revenge for their "boy" becoming his own man, Mike Murphy intends to destroy Sen. Marco Rubio. If Bush can't get the nomination, they will make sure Sen. Marco Rubio can't either.

Advantage: Sen. Ted Cruz.

What a stupid article designed to get conservatives to vote for Rubio who is just another rino. I am so sick of the GOP’s games.

Trump is a wild card, an enigma, a Rorschach ink blot test, regarding his political leanings. His past is that of a businessman first, entertainer second, and lastly a politician.

As a businessman /entertainer he used politics in a way that facilitated and promoted his primary interests.

Now that politics has moved from low to very high on Trumps priority list, we are left to wonder who he really is, and try to cobble together his actual political belief system, using fragments of past statements and actions that come from a different context.

This lends itself to a range of wild speculation that typically coalesces around our own hopes biases and prejudices and may or may not represent the reality of who Trump is as a political animal.

I am predisposed to believe that Trump would be a huge benefit for the country. His loyalty would not be to any one party, repub or dem, but to his vision of what America represents. I look at the Trump ink blot and see traditional American values such as patriotism, free markets, family and an intolerance of politically correct progressive facism.

IOW, projection.

Exactly...projection. Pervasive, powerful and ubiquitous, projection usually “trumps” objectivity, because by definition we are all subjective.

Subjectivity is so much easier and comfortable. We generally only let objectivity rule when something real and immediate is about to effect our physical or financial viability.

Pretty bizarre article to ignore the 2 frontrunners completely, LOL! Last I saw, Trump was polling ahead of Cruz in Texas and ahead of Bush and Rubio in Florida. I didn’t notice where Carson was in the mix, but he’s certainly not negligible right now.

“Trump has been the frontrunner now for 5 months and Redstate still pretends he isn’t running.”

I should’ve read your post before posting ;) I thought I was in the Twilight zone.

“In that scenario - which is dependent on the current leaders, businessman Donald Trump and retried neurosurgeon Ben Carson, fading - Cruz would emerge as the standard-bearer of the GOP’s conservative wing, while Rubio would be the establishment-friendly figure.”

So the plan to win the nomination is the 2 frontrunners - who have been the only frontrunners thus far - fade?

Sounds like a software engineering flowchart I had hung on my wall - one of the boxes was ‘then a miracle occurs.’

“I won’t vote for ANY of The Cheap Labor Express candidates.”

Cruz is an unknown on this. I waited months for him to explain why we need a 500% increase of H1Bs and what he would do with the illegals here. I waited and waited. He’s intelligent enough to know he has to say something- so the silence is deafening. Donors at play, I suspect.

Two terms of Obama makes sane people turn into the very people who voted for Obama.

Trump is a "change we can believe in". Where have I heard that before?

...

Jeb has an irrational love for anything Hispanic, and he wanted to groom Rubio for his running mate. Jeb for his part figured he was going to be crowned by the establishment.

Maybe Jeb could even get a kind word from Trump.

It looks like this Trump quote was from 1999.
Notice the last two sentences from the excerpt.
http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/10/donald-trump-ronald-reagan-213288
Then, as now, Trump believed that Americans wanted an outsider who would offer more political pizazz than the likes of John McCain, Al Gore and the first George Bush, whom he described as “out of touch.” Among his sons, though, Trump found something to admire in Jeb. “He’s exactly the kind of political leader this country needs now and will very much need in the future.”

And how many times has Planned Parenthood been busted on tape pressuring young minors to LIE about the nature of their pregnancy so that they don’t have to go to the authorities to investigate rape?

The same goes for incest. The older man takes the charge to Planned Parenthood for the no questions asked abortion. Then he goes back at it until she gets pregnant again, back to PP who knows but hides the incest. If it was illegal to have an abortion, the incest victim's perpetrator will be found out in a couple of months. So see making incest pregnancies illegal, we can rescue a incest victim from her perpetrator and put him in jail.
