NBC has released early figures for the ratings on Donald Trumpâs Saturday Night Live hosting gig, and theyâre yuuuge. The Associated Press downplays the Trump bump while admitting he brought NBCâs numbers to a three-year high.

I can’t believe anyone over 15 would even watch that trash and think the adolescent and stupid jokes and skits are funny. Is that multi-colored untalented sheepdog the usual level of entertainment and that black woman spewing racist and crude comments what it is like every week?
A high never to be reached again, EVER!
THOSE times drew all viewing America up on stage WITH them and they allowed us to be part of the performance
Genius !
You got that right!
Well it appeals to a certain age range.
Is that age range 12-16?
Rather ages 18-25.
Trump looked like the only adult on stage.
Trump last minute vetoed the skits that ridiculed Ben Carson so as not to offend Ohio voters. They added some last minute skits to fill in the blanks. Thats why the 2nd half of the show seemed to look so unprepared.
Show has sucked for THIRTY years and somehow they had better ratings THREE years ago?
BS
I Love Lucy is comic genius!!! Today what passes for funny is smut filled crap for the most part.
BAU.
I always believed that the “The uncontrollable crackups on stage” were staged.
Main reason why i don’t watch.
I imagine fans of SNL will continue to be fans of SNL. Most of those who are not regular viewers, who tuned in just to see Trump, will continue to not watch in the future. Basically a one time bump in ratings, with no lasting benefit for SNL beyond that, but it allowed Trump to connect with a segment of the population (LIV’s) in a way that probably helps him.
I had the misfortune or bad judgment to sit through a replay of an old SNL show from 1976 which NBC aired in the hour before the eleven o’clock news last night - blatant pumping against Jerry Ford and for Jim-mie Carter just before the election that year, and some of the flattest, unfunny comedy I can remember - Trump would have had to be an improvement.....
I think just enough Mexican protesters showed up to staff a Sunday-afternoon shift at Chipotle.
They're liberals. "Adult" is not an operative term for people chronically left at the 12-year-old level of emotional maturity and lacking any degree of critical thinking skills.
The writing on SNL is a mute testimony that pot should not be made legal.
The funniest thing I saw on TV last night was the second episode of Ash vs. Evil Dead. It may be a bit violent/crude for you. I don’t know. I love the shows of the era you mentioned—I’m particularly partial to Leave It To Beaver, which is a lifelong favorite.
