This weekend Donald Trump is hosting Saturday Night Live, and to the chagrin of the GOP, everyone knows it will be a ratings hit. The Donald will have an hour and a half to make jokes at the expense of his Republican opponents and boost his brand, and there is nothing the GOP establishment can do about it. Trump has ridiculed, belittled, and comically dismissed anyone who has challenged him thus far, and now he will have the perfect platform to do more of it.

I've been watching SNL for all 40 years and it's as good now as it's ever been. Trump has done great on this show and the only misfire was the laser harp skit (in which the whole skit misfired).
Welcome to the world of sketch comedy. Sometimes something that works great in dress rehearsal fall flat live. And vice versa. That's what makes live sketch comedy so compelling to watch. In fact, the best sketches on SNL are when the actors fall out of character and crack each other up.
Trump did great tonight and this will be one of the classic shows.

I always loved watching SCTV in early 80’s and loved all those former SNL actors like John Candy. I can’t imagine it being bad if John Candy was part of it!

I’ve been watching SNL for years (admitadly the past 5 or so have been fairly bland in general) and this has been one of the low points in the series.
It’s just not funny, in any way.
The funniest sketch was the opener with Hillary’s switching accents...
The rest has been flat and delivered stiff and robotic.
The entire show sucked. Trump gained nothing by appearing on the show.

Well,as usual, even with Trump on it,SNL just isn’t funny. Reminds me once again why I never watch SNL.
I haven’t watched SNL in years. Please tell me it isn’t this bad all the time....not even close to a laugh for the whole show. Heck, not even a chuckle.
Actually Trump did himself no harm in his attempt to conform to their nonsense.

Idiocracy at it's worst with SNL... America is in worse shape than I imagined if people enjoy that show. wow.
me too, haven’t seen that show in about 15 years, and this show will be my last time EVER. Trump can get by with it, but I hope he never does it again.
SNL was the best when Belushi was on.

I caved in and watched SNL for the first time in about 20 years.
Trump didn’t bash opponents and the show was just as dull and unfunny as I remembered it to be.
What a lame cast and sorry writers the show now has! They rank a 1 on a scale of 10 when compared to the days of Belushi, Murphy, Chase, et al.
Seems wrong for him to get paid once for being on SNL and at th same time paid to follow the script saying trump’s a racist.
I just watched a few minutes, including Trump on the “laser harp” and part of the dinner with Dad. Yuck. There’s a reason I haven’t watched SNL in at least 30 years.
I tuned in when the laser harp sketch came on. Bad timing, I guess.
I watched a little bit of it. It was not funny and was lame, lame, lame. We finally turned it off.
