I was taught that the "tip of the point" at the end of the tie should hit the middle of your belt buckle.

When I was a Corporate Guy, that’s how I wore my Ties.
I’m over 6’2” and long waisted. Wearing a Tie any shorter didn’t work for me. I had to buy them at a Big and Tall Store.

DH said when he saw DT’s tie said ‘that’s a terrible looking tie”. The man did look a bit disheveled. A bit out of character. He does have signature ties which sell, doesn’t he?
