If the Republican wins the presidency only a start has been made. Most of the great Agencies have to be abolished very quickly and their employees terminated with no extra compensation and Civil Service has to be also abolished. The spoils system, as corrupt as it was, at least changed the corrupt officeholders and clerks from time to time. Civil Services entrenches them and makes them much more competently corrupt thus much more expensive.
How do you figure that a gop presidency would even start that process? What we’ve seen since the late 80’s, and even before that, was the gop president (and congress, and legislatures, and governorships, and courts) rushing to implement an agenda that isn’t at all discernible from that implemented by the rats.
What makes us think this time would be any different?
