The good news is that the diesel
generators are made by Volkswagen.

So after investing so heavily in green energy to reduce their carbon footprint they end up having to turn to diesel!

That is stunningly ironic.

The good news is that the diesel

They would also emit a significant amount of nitrous oxide, though the exact figure is unknown. As a comparison, 1.5GW of power is equivalent to that used by 24,000 Volkswagen Golfs

The subsidies on offer are so appealing that even solar-power developers, which have recently had their own subsidies cut, are building diesel generation on their sites as a way of maximising their returns

Ed Davey, the former energy secretary who set up the scheme, known as the “capacity market auction”, said the problem arose because of EU rules that forbid discriminating against any one type of generation.

Diesel generators are what keep most third world cities intermittently lit at night.

Start of a trend? Massive influx of seventh century savages followed by decline in civil behavior and rule of law.

Just need machete-armed gangs to make it real.

Oooh boy, it will be like Lagos, Nigeria. Yum.

Dopes thought the wind would do it. Their green weenies let them down.

Individual diesel engines don’t pollute much. /s

What is stunning is that all these western countries seemingly populated by intelligent people who are capable of figuring out green energy is decades away from being viable, that’s even a maybe, yet still went ahead and bought into the idea that renewable energy is a great thing...

Most EU countries energy costs have exploded...coming to the US very soon...

Thanks to their leaders...

I have reduced my power requirements so low that Bammys plans are nullified in my case. When I get the solar water heat in I will be facing a new problem, using enough power to keep them from pulling the transformer. I HAVE to use a minimum of 20 bucks a month they told me.

Oh, noes!

I have an old style electric water heater...

I put a simple timer on it like a pool filter timer...

I turn it off 12 hours a day...6:00 pm to 6:00 am...

saves me tons of money....

Yes, but it's a common problem.
