Germany investigates anti-Islam group founder for Goebbels remark

BERLIN - German prosecutors have opened an investigation into the founder of the anti-Islam PEGIDA movement for slander after he compared the justice minister to Hitler's head of propaganda, Joseph Goebbels.

At a rally in Dresden on Monday, which German media said drew about 8,000 people, Lutz Bachmann said Social Democrat (SPD) minister Heiko Maas was the "worst spiritual fire raiser" since Goebbels and Karl-Eduard von Schnitzler.

Von Schnitzler was a television commentator in Communist East Germany who strongly criticised Western governments and media.

The comment is the latest in a series of provocative remarks made at the regular rallies of Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (PEGIDA). Only two weeks ago, a speaker said that concentration camps were "unfortunately out of action".

The USA is the last safe haven for free speech.

True, as of now. But tomorrow's leaders are being educated in colleges today. And those colleges are clamping down, hard, on free speech. Can't challenge global warming, can't challenge affirmative action, can't be pro-Israel, etc., etc.

It is very troubling, and it is, I think, the way the whole country will look 20 years from now. By degrees, non-PC free speech will turn into illegal "hate speech".

Sorry for being so pessimistic.

Communism is simply a brand of organized crime. How can that work?

Yes net neutrality may have such consequences.

Only thing worse than a Fascist, is an “Anti-Fascist.”

They wind up being one and the same, in the end.

We are heading for violent times over the next five or ten years. These liberal idiots are making sure that it happens. People will eventually fight back when the government continues to go against the interests of its own people. It looks to me like Merkel is importing the army to fight her own people.

As pointed out on another thread, at one time Merkel was a critic of multiculturalism, and now she erases the borders.

This is the way of a lost humanity. It always was, when said humanity backed away from the Lord, trying to be its own Lord. Evil special interests win the day and (as C. S. Lewis put it) it all slides down in misery and ruin.

Christians should neither be surprised, nor be doom despairers in a particular local situation.

Maybe she thought all too facilely that oh, she could make this group into good Germans, after all she’s succeeded with everybody else.

But you can’t do that with a people that doggedly considers itself exceptional under a deity that is enmity to any deity you may have left.

That's what liberal "uber" types want, but it's not a foregone conclusion that they'll get it.

Remember what happened to the Four Hundred: they got not one but two Roosevelts to chastise them. And the RiNO's got Ronnie, and soon I think another Ronnie; the People aren't stupid, and they won't be cozened by camel-rapist-huggers or misanthropic billionaires (like George Soros and his NWO friends).

Once they’re in power, of course, the useful idiots realize that it’s all bunk, but until then, an occasional handful of goodies and trinkets keeps the masses slavering. And the morons fall for it every time.

But then Citizen Stakhanov asks an Embarrassing Question about some point of cognitive dissonance someone carelessly left lying around ..... and then the process of revelation begins.

Gorbachev's glasnost, his programmatic openness to facts, killed Soviet Communism in about three years flat. That's pretty impressive. An American journalist said he was in a big room with a TV in Russia when Gorby's TASS and other agencies opened up. The TV showed a typical big grocery in the States, with people shopping for a wide variety of foods, and the Russian announcer was explaining that this wasn't some Potemkin setup by the clever American propagandists, but instead a typical American shopping experience.

The American visitor didn't say anything but just watched the older Russian women, the babushkas, to see how they would take it in, having been lied to all their lives, from Stalin's time onward, about American life and what big liars the capitalists were. The women didn't say anything or overtly demonstrate a reaction, but the American visitor noticed after a while a tear rolling down one woman's cheek.

Game over.

Yes, there is still some hope. We are on the same wavelength (see my tagline). At one time, I thought the next Reagan would be Sarah Palin. But for many reasons (some of her own making), she faded.

I've taken some heat for saying it, but now I think the next Reagan could be Donald Trump.

Trump/Cruz 2016
Trump/West 2016

(take your pick)
