In the wake of the two-year budget deal the former House Speaker John Boehner negotiated with the Obama White House, Congress still needs to enact appropriations legislation to keep the government funded after the current continuing resolution expires on Dec. 11.

Don’t get excited. He meant they will use the power of the purse to continue Obama’s agenda.

Also, he said no amnesty while Obama is president. Watch out for the lame duck session if either Cruz or Trump are elected.

Talk, promises, talk, more talk. No action.”

And they are going on PAID vacation for most of the rest of the year.

They just voted to give Obama a blank check for the rest of his term. Power of the purse my eye!

Exactly.

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/10/paul-ryan-speaker/411640/

“In addition to asking for unity from the party, Ryan is also seeking a rules change that would prevent a group of lawmakers from ousting him in a floor vote. Before Boehner resigned, conservatives had threatened to try to remove him with a “motion to vacate the chair”, which hadn’t been used in decades.”

So the first thing he did was try and “eviction-proof” himself.
Getting rid of Ryan, if he turns out to be `Boehner Jr.’, is going to be like trying to get snot out of a suede jacket.

We’re trying to be reasonable, patient with Gowdy’s endless investigation and Ryan’s big talk .. but just dayum.

Ha! Sure you will, Ryan. Just keep talking while doing whatever Obama likes, and you’ll get to be Speaker for a good long while.

I know everyone here is dubious about Ryan after the last couple years. I am no exception. I have to tell you though. In a radio news break today a clip of Ryan speaking was used and I am thrilled we have a guy in that position who can speak clear and concisely. It bugged me to no end hearing the long winded jiberish from Boehner the past 5 years. He simply was incapable of using effective soundbites to get a coherent message out.

I still have my reservations about Ryan but he is already demonstrating the number one quality we need in every key leadership position. Communication skills.

That might scare the NEXT President, because this one has already cashed the GOPe’s blank check.

Our family just absolutely won’t support our Congressman, Cornyn or Texas organizations that support them.
