I think many of rioters are from out of the area for some of these events, and when they went to Kansas they couldn’t find Kansas City to start any trouble.
. .
The San Francisco Giants fans that came back from the KC World Series games last year had nothing but great things to say about the KC fans, one guy said he wore his GIANTS jersey and never once had to buy a beer. Congratulations to the Royals on your World Series win.
Beautiful day here in Kansas City and the celebrations have been family friendly. No doubt the usual suspects in the media are very upset.
Meanwhile, sales of the card games Yatzee, Old Maid and War! are off the charts in Kansas City. As are sales of Buffalo Wings, Lite Beer and Pringles Potato Chips.
As a former citizen of KC for three years, I’m not surprised at all. They are some of the nicest people ever.
a New York Yankees fan here....congrats to the KC Royals and a big hello to George Brett!
and to the Mets? my Yankees Fan Schadenfreude for them continues unabated.
Classy. Good for them and their city.
A pocket of sanity in a country gone mad.
Would have been a different story if it was in St. Louis.
Glad to hear this!
When the Saints won the Super Bowl in 2010, this city was so happy that there was no crime reported in New Orleans for a few days. People of all colors were hugging each other in the streets, and it was positively euphoric. Too bad it didn’t last.
Gee, who-da-thunk that SanFran, whose government is an outlaw, law-breaking, illegal-alien-loving, criminal-coddling, conservative Christian hating, hard-left hell hole would have riots, thanks to their baseball team winning the world series...
Today, at the parade and rally, there were an estimated 750,000 people. Not bad, since the population of the KC Metro area is a bit over 2 million. But then, a tremendous number of businesses, and every local school district & college was closed today for the parade & rally.
Just a couple of arrests (I believe it was 3, according to the report I heard,) but the police were kept busy, reuniting lost children with parents.
I love living here.
Mark
OK the news is reporting that somewhere between 600,000 and 800,000 people were downtown today for the parade and the celebration. Total arrests? Three.
