Powell was given a BN command in 73 and he had done very little in Vietnam on his two tours. Hell he was an advisor with no real award on his 1st tour and after a very brief stint in 68-69 with an Inf BN as XO he was an asst. to the asst. Div G3 . The man is and was so lame in Korea in 73 that the BDE S-3 SGM, an SF trooper who had been in Laos and Vietnam had to go put down Powell’s troops that were race rioting. Powell’s so called soldier’s medal is highly questionable. I cannot picture Powell in any 3 shop. I doubt he can write an OP order. Powell had AA pals before Reagan.

I was unaware of the race rioting. I have heard about the substandard Vietnam experience. Hey, at least he’s Ranger qualified. That’s more than many of Obama’s favorite soldiers.
