Ben Carson has surged into the lead of the Republican presidential race, getting support from 29 percent of GOP primary voters, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
That's the highest percentage any GOP candidate has obtained so far in the survey.
Carson's 29 percent is followed by Donald Trump at 23 percent, Marco Rubio at 11 percent, Ted Cruz at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 8 percent. These findings are similar to a New York Times/CBS poll released last week, which also showed Carson in first place in the national GOP contest.

The point is that, when you search for articles about Carson that don’t refer to his poll numbers those are what you get. He simply does not have positive coverage needed to result in a NATIONAL poll bounce.
I say this as someone who’d happily vote for him.
GPH, It is attitudes like yours to fellow conservatives that will invariably hurt your candidate. Your personal attacks are just plain nasty, and provide no reason for others to support your views. One should work to convince, not to berate.
We know the truth that some of these clowns in the media are going to skew their polls against Trump. If NBC and the Wall Street Urinal think they can create a bandwagon effect moving voters away from Trump is completely laughable. Trump knows it too so he’s not going to care. He’ll say he won’t believe this as he has done before when some dubious poll comes out, and he’ll be correct. Trump is seen as the hated ring leader in negotiation on how the debates will be conducted; moreover, Trump plans to boycott the NBC/Telemundo debate if it somehow gets resurrected from the dead.
Only 88 days left before the media stupidity gets exposed and tossed. Tic toc.

Democrats pretending to be republicans. No way on God’s green earth Carson is beating Trump nationally. Impossible. When was the last time one of his campaign speeches was carried on the networks? I rest my case.
Therein lies the last irony. Carson is SDA, with all that nonsense they support. But remember, they are voting for the guy who sounds the most religious!
Trust me, Rick Santorum was the Ben Carson of that season. He had no ideas. He stood in front of a banner that said "courageous," then explained how courageous he was. What kind of dummy votes for someone who has to remind you how courageous and religious they were?
As for "who" they should have supported? Obviously, the only logical choice would have been Newt, even with all his baggage. He actually had a platform. Santorum had Porno at the top of his Issues page for months.
His biggest problem was a lack of money.
His biggest problem was that he was an unlikable, sanctimonious scrub with no ideas. That's why he was always doomed from the start.
It is certainly a valid and distressing question whether a vocal Christian can get elected to high office in 21st century America. Even on this site, there are a number of posters who use Carson’s religious views as evidence of disqualification. Just sad to see, that’s all.

In 3 minutes from now Bloody Megyn will start her show off touting this ridiculous poll. Stirewalt and the warlock looking character, both who hate Trump, will call for him to get out, that it’s over for him.
it’s all about the questions they ask. for example, the CBS/NYT poll that said carson was ahead in Iowa, also found out 80% of carson supporters could see themselves changing their minds.
Nothing wrong with one's religious positions at all, actually. The problem is when you have a group of voters who are voting purely on religion, and then, don't even have any logical standards in their own religious vote! If you're claiming to be a Church Lady, why would you vote for someone who is, say, a Mormon or in a goofy group like the SDA, even going so far as to defend their religion? Just doesn't make any sense. And I conclude it's because these people don't think when they're voting.
Let us hope these awful people will be a minority in the primary voting booth!
His speech and demeanor are certainly creepy. His supporters must be hypnotized by it or something.
I have not met any either. He is not the person this country needs.
For a man over 50 (in 1999) to espouse the views of the far left certainly raises the question of the nature of his recent political transformation. Sure, it is possible, and I would love for Mr. trump to explain to us voters what transformative event caused this reversal in his views.
As far as more recent contradictions, there is the H1-B kerfluffle. A bit ago, over the summer I think, he said:
“When foreigners attend our great colleges & want to stay in the U.S., they should not be thrown out of our country...I want talented people to come into this country-to work hard and to become citizens. Silicon Valley needs engineers, etc.”
Now, a few months later, he says he wants to require employers to pay H-1B workers much more money, which he said would discourage companies from hiring them and boost job prospects for Americans.
Are these lib polls polling the South. Be a cold day in hell before Ben Carson carries the first Southern state and I don’t mean because he’s black. He’s a pacifist and a girly man and not a leader. Southerners are some of the biggest patriotic Americans and believe in a strong military and kicking ass and taking names. I’ve not ran across the first Southerner (or conservative republican anywhere) that said he would not have went into Afganistan. Carson stands a shot in Iowa because the evangelicals have no idea what kind of faith 7th Day Adventists are. When the good ole boy Evangelical in Iowa finds out Ben Carson doesn’t believe in hell he’s numbers will so south right real fast.

Carson has freely admitted telling women who wanted to abort their baby what doctor to go to. He’s no more pro-life than Margaret Sanger was. He’s a fake and fraud, a closet democrat.

I just have to think back to 9/11/2001 to know who the enemy are... and they are not the SDA. I say this as an LCMS Elder.
