U.S. statistics, I recall, show that 75% of black children give birth to OUT-OF-WEDLOCK babies. So, children grow up daddy-less.

Dads, not male sperm donors, teach their children, among other things, about men, their relationship with women and how to deal with adult male authorities. That is especially important for black boys and how to deal with adult male WHITE authority.

Mothers, for all their good intentions, simply cannot do that. I saw it over and over again when I taught high school. I was so fed up that I got my master's degree so I could teach at the college level.

All the students I had were there because they WANTED to be, so I could actually TEACH. I loved it.

The black students (and there weren't many) would gather at noon at one spot, laugh, talk and discuss the day.
After the first eight weeks of classes that number had dropped. By midterm, there were less than half left.
By finals, none were left.

It was the same story year after year and I taught there 27 years.

MUCH of the problem was their comprehensive INability to read and write at a level required by college. Also they didn't have the background of study. It was all to evident.

I would say the exact same thing of the Hispanic students, though they didn't gather at any one spot.
OCCASIONALLY, a LatinA would make it through, but I never, ever saw a LatinO graduate. They were made to WORK as soon as they could walk get the SSN. MOTHERS put them to work...as their "daddy-less" rate was almost as poor as that for the blacks.

Most students worked, as it was a public college, so that was NOT a bad thing as it taught them the value of work and education.

I used to tell them that the governments, employers, IRS, whomever, could take EVERYTHING away for them, for some reason or other but NO ONE could ever take away their education from them. Their degrees were well worth the time and effort.

Federal data show that black students are more than twice as likely to be arrested in school as white students.

Looks like "black students" need to clean up their act. Maybe "black parents" need to do a better job of child raising. Police yourselves, or you will be policed. And you won't like it.

Once again: It is long past time to abolish government schools. Educating our children is too important to let the government continue to make a mess of it.

Young black men: 3% of the population. 50% of the murder.

To this day I hate public schools for this very reason

I call it the "lowest common denominator plan"- because that is what/who is being served...

I taught for awhile in an urban high school that was, at the time, about 60% black and 40% white. Almost every kid came from a poor family.

The huge majority of the troublemakers were black, way more than 60%. But at the same time, the huge majority of kids who came for extra help were also black. Again, way more than 60%.

I don't quite know what that implies, but I found it interesting.

Simple solution to the problem: Just arrest as many white kids as black. Detain as many white kids as are needed at the end of each school day. Figure out the charges later.

Pop Tart gun comes to mind.

Sadly the black kids are more than twice as likely to be ill brought up and disruptive. It is what it is.

That being said there are ways to deal with teens that don’t entail throwing them around in the classroom. That’s not a good policy.

If the cop had just waited out in the hall and snagged the girl in question after class she would havw been taken to the office and counseled and disciplined which she sorely needed. Now she is going to feel empowered and has gained a lot of street cred with her classmates. I feel sure she will face no discipline and she’s probably headed down a bad path from the descriptions of her current situation.

Disarm the SC school police officers. New duties for the school resource officer should now include:

Send them to the student parking lot to issue parking tickets for kids not parking between the lines. (Of course, the ticket would only be a warning and carry no penalty.)

Station the cop outside the school supply room so pencils and staplers aren’t stolen. Make the cop sign off on the inventory at the end of each shift.

Have the cop guard the lunch room garbage cans to monitor how much of Michelle O’s special lunches are tossed out.

Make an occasional pass thru student bathrooms to be sure no students are smoking. If one is caught smoking, provide said scofflaw with a “Why You Should Quit Smoking” pamphlet from the US Surgeon General.

/s

(Note...I personally prefer my resource officer to be armed and aggressive in responding to any of the little darlin’s brouhahas.)

i wish every cop in that county/town would walk off the job.

one of their own gets punished for enforcing the law and removing a perp who refused to obey a lawful order.

and because it was caught on a cell phone and obama’s lawless DOJ/FBI started whining, the cop got fired.

just leave, guys....white or black, your desire to keep order in that municipality is no longer wanted. let the thugs run wild, and see how much the community likes the situation.

And why is that?

I have never heard a politician or bleeding heart liberal ask that obvious question.

THE STUDENT ASSAULTED THE COP FIRST - THAT’S WHY HE TREATED HER THAT WAY .. AND I’M NOT UPSET ABOUT IT AT ALL.

Yes, it is heavy handed; but when a “child” treats an adult of authority by assaulting them, then the “child” no longer has to be treated with kid gloves.

I’M SICK AND TIRED OF THESE CHILDREN PUSHING ADULTS AROUND .. AND IF THE ADULTS DON’T PUT A STOP TO IT .. IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE.

This black female punk was dragged a short distance where the officer could cuff this unruly jackass and arrest. He did so to get her to an area where she could not hurt anyone else. He was completely right, I would have done the same.

Precisely.
It was a good concept that didn’t pan out as planned.
Time to scrap it.
I most of the rest of the planet an education is a privilege, not a right. As such it is VALUED. Parents go to great extremes to get their kids an education, and kids are well aware of the sacrifices their parents make so they can go to school. They do not squander the opportunity.

Here, public school, particularly high school, is nothing but a babysitting exercise ... and a jobs program for a vast education bureaucracy.

Public schools should end at 8th grade. We used to be able to teach everything a student needed, the basics, in eight grades. There is no need for 4 more years unless you are a SERIOUS STUDENT with plans to go on to college or you simply like learning.

This ‘student’ probably shouldn’t have been in school in the first place. She didn’t seem to be there to learn ... just play on her phone and act up which disrupts the rest of the class.

Send the non-serious students home so the serious students can learn.

Teachers should walk off too.

As should students who go to school to really learn and instead have to put up with BS ‘students’ who are only there to cause trouble and disrupt learning.

I had off shift classes at the company I retired from, the instructor was from the local junior college. He frequently told us what a pleasant experience it was being our teacher and he wished he could do it full time.

He was especially pleased at our attentiveness, no disruptions and the fact that we asked loads of questions related to the subject matter. Although the company paid for the classes, it was not on company time, we were there because we wanted to learn.

Kids should be in school for the same reason and if they aren’t there for that reason, perhaps they should be allowed to drop out at an earlier age.

When I was in school, back in the dark ages, kids could drop out at 16 or upon completion of the 8th. grade, whichever came first. Many of them did drop out as soon as the law allowed or even sooner because they had to go to work, usually on the farm.

I’m not so sure about today’s drop out age, maybe it should be lowered.

How would these dropouts live?
The boys would wash dishes and sell drugs.
The girls would become prostitutes.

Our culture has taught these kids that EVERYONE can be a college graduate and that the only jobs that pay are those that require a college degree.

What is still true:

1. The skilled worker makes good money until s/he is forty years old. Then the money stops increasing and s/he is stuck at that pay.

2. The college graduate doesn't START making the big bucks until s/he is forty. The money steadily goes up and up and s/he passes the skilled worker in ALL areas: health, income, future, property...you name it.

Yeah, if you are35 and still in the first grade, someone needs to give it a thought. But since the school system is getting boo coos of tax money for you being enrolled, it probably won't happen. "Education" is among man made global warming as the top two scams being pulled on the sheep today.

Back when I was going to school, you caused a disturbance and kept other people from learning, the teacher or principal, or both, beat your ass with a board. If you persisted in creating disturbances they told you, We are not going to allow you to keep 20 people who come here to learn from learning. Out you go.
