So he’s sending our elite forces to join Al Qaeda in fighting Assad and ISIS?

The Russian bombers are not going to be able to avoid hitting our troops.

This is beyond stupid. This is criminal.

IIRC, al Nusra is one of our ‘friendly forces’ in Syria with connections to al Qaeda and in opposition to Assad.

A former al Nusrite is al Baghdadi who is the leader of ISIS.

I need to check on the above, but I think my memory is correct.

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
“Charge for the guns!” he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismay’d?
Not tho’ the soldier knew
Someone had blunder’d:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred

The “Syrian opposition” is fighting a two-front war? Is that how I understand it? They are fighting Assad and ISIS? Didn’t Assad just meet with Putin in Moscow?! This moron is getting WWIII rolling, isn’t he?

“This is beyond stupid. This is criminal.”

Obama has already fired every competent officer, reduced the troops, instituted gender garbage, so what’s next? What about decimating the best we have by sending too few with incredibly hamstringing rules of engagement into a battlefield.

I have a question. When our troops are killed will they be called combatants?

When they put US troops into cages and burn them alive, will he go golfing?

The link below carries the title “Syria conflict: Russia warns US of ‘proxy war risk’.” Russian Foreign Minister said the following after meeting with Kerry and others: Mr Lavrov said the US had decided on its move “unilaterally and without any reference to the Syrian leadership”. He added: “I am convinced that neither the United States nor Russia of course want any kind of slide into a so-called proxy war. But to me it is obvious that this situation makes the task of co-operation between the militaries even more relevant.”

So it sounds as though we did get the Russian’s attention with this move. Personally, I think Putin just wants to not appear irrelevant rather than to get into any nasty, costly war with the US. We all need to remember the Spanish Civil War to avoid those mistakes.

This link has more than a dozen additional recent links about the Syria and/or Russia situation. Plan to read more tomorrow to sharpen my conjectures.
