Ceasefire Oregon and the Ceasefire Oregon Education Foundation Release Recommendations to Reduce Gun Violence by Thirty to Fifty Percent in Five Years. The plan includes legislative and educational courses of action. The three overarching goals are to require higher standards for firearm ownership, enhance accountability of federally licensed firearms dealers and improve safety standards for firearms and firearm ownership. Details are available on our new webpage.

Which of course requires money which follows that a tax on something to fund these legislative actions and educational courses.

require higher standards for firearm ownership,

Oregon is a "shall issue" state.

I suppose they'll start issuing based on political affiliation.

They need more unarmed security guards. Take the guns away from every law enforcement officer in Oregon and make them attend sensitivity training two days a week to keep them off the street.

My plan: Buy more guns before terrible proposals are implemented; fight to prevent the passage of bad laws that restrict our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms; and fight to restore the gun rights that have already been lost.

I hope Ceasefire Oregon fails in everything they try to do to us, since their true goal is disarming decent people.

One way they can "reduce gun violence" up there is to temporarily increase it by prolific use of random pat-downs and summary on-the-spot execution of anyone found to have a gun.

Another way is to outlaw gun-free zones and remove all state restrictions, infringements as it were, on possession and carrying of firearms.

The second way will necessarily have fewer racial connotations.

Haha, 30~50% reduction.

What, that still leaves between 3 to 5 guns for every man, woman, and child in the state.

People don’t realize that outside of Portland, Salem, and a few lib infested shitholes along the coast, that Oregon is pretty much red state, albeit a sparsely populated red state. A majority of the population is centered around Portland, everything else east of the cascades is desert wasteland and crazy rednecks. The libtards from the coast don’t fare too well in the eastern part of the state.

All done in the face of an already falling gun violence rate. However, since they insist on the import of Islamists who are not subject to their stupid communist rules....

Remember Archie Bunker’s solution for eliminating hijackings; handing out handguns at the gate?

You need to think outside the box for a 30-50% reduction in gun violence. Hand out knives to every gangbanger. Maybe a small stipend of food stamps for every use.

Stabbings are not “gun violence”. Make Leroy Brown consider the razor in his shoe over the .32 gun in his pocket for fun.

Look at me, solving all the problems so easy. I could be a liberal.

Washington Ceasefire managed to ram a similar law through a year ago. A map of our state looks very much like the one of Oregon, namely, a small tail wagging a large dog. You have to fight this to the bitter end. It’s good to know you have some sheriffs (as do we) who will refuse to enforce these unconstitutional laws. Best wishes in your endeavors.

If a state doesn’t honor my chp, I don’t visit. Which means no family visits to Maryland. The entire left coast is also a no visit zone.

My Wash. State CCP, which has to be renewed every five years with a background check, allowed me to be able to purchase firearms without a repetitious background check each time. When the new law was written, that little convenience was dropped from the text. These a-holes don’t miss a trick!
