I agree that Trump should not get far from his immigration ideas at any point in time.

No.

The special characters appeared on their own.

It appears, sometimes, when you use quotation marks and other similar marks.

It sometimes appears when you use ‘quotation’ marks and other similar “marks.

Yeah, and Hillary as a running mate would likely deliver NJ as well.

No thanks.

Yes, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t.

Weird.

Kasich, Christie, Santorum, Rubio, and Carson can possibly deliver states that are either on the line or currently out of play.

Getting Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, would be huge. Carson could maybe influence Maryland or Michigan. I don’t know. Florida is always on the edge and Rubio could make it certain but it wouldn’t be a game changer. His Hispanic background included could be important.

Texas is republican, and Cruz won’t affect that.

Kasich isn’t a good debater, so he wouldn’t be a helpful VP candidate.

Christie can hit it out of the park, but he’s a liberal, yet he probably can deliver New Jersey.

Carson is a so-so debater, and maybe can deliver Maryland or Michigan or both, and maybe some black voters. Plus he’s just so darn likeable.

Rubio is solid, will bring Florida and is the just behind Cruz in debate skills. And he’s Hispanic.

Most of them aren’t very good outside of delivering the consultant-fed, rehearsed soundbites. E.g., Carson talking about brain surgery and DC in the first debate. Carly giving her, yes, robotic spiel in the second debate, and Rubio defending his lack of experience and absenteeism on what experience he has by going after Jeb and the media.

All rehearsed.

Cruz has the unfortunate affectation or mannerism of sounding rehearsed whether or not he is.

What’s notable is how Trump scores without rehearsal. He does it with an alpha-male, tell-it-to-you-directly, good enough vibe about it. If it’s inauthentic, it’s so well done that it’s still gold.

but just think of in one of a Jay Leno street questioning:

Leno: "so how do you like ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢, would you vote for him for President?"

Street walker scratches head and after pondering says, "well yes, of course, I don't think we should discriminate against foreigners being president."

Rubio isn’t solid, and you’re stuck in consultant-think—which usually doesn’t work anyway. Look at the FL poll #’s for Rubio (or Jeb), for example.

Far better to get voters who don’t normally vote, as Trump does, out—or make sure your base is out in flying colors. Trump can handle the independent, moderate, Reagan Democrat vote. Cruz would assure the base.

That is why Trump is winning.

Ted likes to hear himself orate. I like what he says, but so does he. A LOT.

Carson gets done and I say, “Huh?”.

Rubio needs theme music and people holding up lighters.

Carly needs to go away. Now.

Christie needs to lose weight.

Sure, Cruz is a great prospect. My only point is that he doesn’t bring a state with him.

Cruz stood tall when he demolished one of the moderators on his selection of questions. He nailed them for what and who they really are.

Carson died last night and no matter how snarky Senior Amnesty got he still has the scarlet “A” burned into his forehead and will NEVER Be the Republican nominee. Trump made that a certainty by ramming the issue of illegal aliens onto the stage. With the exception of Cruz the others were happy to keep the issue locked up because they are bought and paid for by the US Chamber of Commerce who wants illegals as cheap labor. Real Final Four: Trump Cruz and Rubio and Carson who will lose early. The panicked GOPe will kill off Cruz because they will still believe they can knock off Trump with Democrat help - won’t happen.

I am wondering when people will realize that these debates will not propel anyone to victory in the primary. They can hurt your standing with the electorate if a candidate consistently performs poorly, i.e. Jeb.

Primary debates are something that have to be endured without being embarrassed.

Kasich was hurt last night, and he knows it. He has this non-attack policy that he’s held for years, and the one time he violates it — last night — he gets body slammed. And he’ll not recover from that.
