The immigration plan Trump released handles it by saying that H1-Bs are now being brought in at the lowest allowable pay levels. He wrote that they should be brought in at only at the highest pay levels. That sounds pretty much like what you wrote.

I believe Huckabee, Christie, Cruz and Fiorina, all mentioned the Constitution.

You're off on a tangent and obsessing about style over substance. There are also plenty of Democrats who "mention" the constitution, that living, breathing document that allows them to do anything they desire. Nancy Pelosi "mentions" it, Obama "mentions" it, and Sheila Jackson Lee "mentions" it and the "good and plenty clause".

Far better to listen to the actual policy proposals of candidates and have some ability to evaluate them than being impressed by "mentions" of the constitution.

You think you're making some valid point, but you have the cart before the horse when it comes to the utterances of politicians. They will and do use "mentions" of the constitution to deceive and hoodwink the voters. Voters have to listen to the specific proposals of politicians and then evaluate them based on some knowledge of the constitution.

And, yes, you're still making a straw man argument when it comes to presidential debates.

I had no idea . Horrific. I have a theory about all the scum in D.C. And it is that their ability to be compromised or blackmailed is what allows a great number of them to ascend to top positions. It Is a disgusting cesspool. Do you have a link to a website. I would like to read about it. Maybe that is what caused the obvious tick.

Correction: It was Representative John Conyers who referenced the “good and plenty” clause of the constitution, not Sheila Jackson Lee.

Excellent idea. We should only be letting immigrants in that can actually help the country in areas where we need help. Not welfare or low wage people who cost the country money we don’t have.

If that’s all it is to you, then you have some learning to do as well.

Yea, whatever. These guys don't even read the bills anymore before voting on them. The entire system is a joke.

This is a copy of a post I just made on another thread...it will save me some time....lol

“I think we have elections because of the obvious. We are a democratic Republic. That is what was given to us on a silver platter.

What has happened since is that it has become corrupt.

Corruption does not and cannot exist in a vacuum. By that I mean that it requires a compliant and disinterested public. it requires a conspiracy of a sort where the watchdogs responsible for protecting the system, are drugged or are part of the corruption.

Our watchdogs, the media, is not drugged....so

And our media cannot exist without a supportive public.

The public would not support corruption unless they were getting their share of the take.

Thus the reason we are all screwed up is that we are all screwed up. The social compact is broken. Plato was right about democracy as were those who followed saying that it takes diligence and hard work to keep it. That voters would soon discover that they could vote themselves a share of the treasury.

My favorite phrase is that the people of a democracy always get the government they want and deserve. It’s not so much the political class as you stated, who is at fault here or responsible. They are but a creation of the people who are supposed to be tasked with that responsibility.

Those officials, and those governmental entrenched systems were allowed if not encouraged to be created. Those corrupt officials are the creation of the collective “We”.

Interesting post RitaOK. I appreciate the mention.

I don’t honestly know what drives these folks other than pure evil. Either that or they think we are.

This is nuts.

Not true at all. And last night Ted Cruz is an example of the point I am making.

He made his point. He called out the media. He called out the BS antics of the biased questioning. He did so, without being a dick. He came across as a statesmen, who commanded the stage. He didn’t hold back and he didn’t play nice.

It can be done. THAT is what I want in a leader. If you want the rough em up, no class, no tact guy, go for it. But I personally, like the solid, classy statesmen, who knows when and what to say and how to say it without insulting who you are saying it to so completely, your point gets missed. Just MY $.02.
