The woman who crashed into a crowd at Oklahoma State University's homecoming parade, killing four people and injuring dozens more, was held on $1 million bond Monday — as her father acknowledged that "she might have underlying [mental health] problems."

After the hearing, Chambers’ attorney, Tony Coleman, said when he told Chambers about the deaths, “her face was blank.” He said he was not sure Chambers is aware that she’s in jail. Chambers had yet to ask to see her parents or boyfriend.

Chambers father, Floyd Chambers, said his daughter had received inpatient mental health treatment several years ago. He said nothing seemed amiss recently, except his daughter had recently called and said she wanted to move back home.
“I thought that was kind of strange, but I don’t know. She was very good about hiding her problems because she didn’t want the family to worry about her, and she kept to herself about things like that,” Chambers said, fighting back tears.
Her aunt, Lynda Branstetter, said Chambers told her that she had recently quit a second job because her other job at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers had asked her to pick up more hours. She said she saw Adacia Chambers on Friday night and that nothing seemed unusual.
Her boyfriend, Jesse Gaylord, said Chambers had difficulty sleeping and only got an hour or two of sleep before leaving for work Saturday morning.
Gaylord said he never saw Chambers take any drugs — either prescription or illegal — and that the last time they drank alcohol was a few weeks ago, when they each had one beer on his birthday.
Gaylord said he’d never even seen Chambers break any traffic laws.
“She’s honestly one of the most cautious drivers that I’ve ever ridden with. She never turns out in front of any cars. She doesn’t ever run yellow lights,” he said.
What was her previous diagnosis? Drug addiction?

Maybe not, but I know of one case years ago where cops were attempting to pull over a driver a passenger van service and it went into a full blow pursuit, with the van colliding with other vehicles and eventually smashing through construction barricades with passengers hanging on for dear life. It was later found the driver was suffering from issues related to diabetes.
Is that the guy who drove into the crowd in Austin? If so, there hasn’t been much recent coverage of it up in Dallas. But if so, yes, he isn’t from a ‘good family’, so he’s going to get a different sort of justice than a rich kid from the Metroplex.
The gal in Oklahoma was shacking with a guy named Gaylord. Is he from THE Gaylord family in Oklahoma?
Regardless, there must be a motive for the suicide. What makes you hate the world so much, you would rather leave it ? That you would violate all the morals you supposedly have been taught and randomly kill others as a way of trying to get someone to figure out why you so wish to die ?
Well not all of them I would assume. If she did it on purpose you would think she was mad at someone or something specific.

Chambers’ boyfriend: just got back together summer of last year. He went back to school. Long distance was stressful so she moved here.
Chambers’ boyfriend: at first she was stressed about the move but she got a job and things seemed to be getting better.
Up thread there’s a report of mom being bipolar and at least some of the time in hospital.
It builds a picture, though: Dad and Aunt (no mom), suicide, slashing wrists but not “intentional” or suicide attempt, the boyfriend, talk of wanting to move home and then suicidal.

Or a result, depending on how you view it.
Her mom being a diagnosed manic/depressive tends to point toward that, This disease is inherited, and passes down the mother’s side.
The descriptions presented so far (as scant and one sided as they are) can all be attributed to a manic break.
Can also be attributed to various drugs, including pot or alcohol.
I grew up with a mother druggie who always excused her druggie symptoms by saying she was either diabetic or hypoglycemic. It is what they all say. She spent time in a mental hospital for her drug addiction. She went into mental health treatment repeatedly. The love for drugs trumped everything else and she would always return to it.
Even my aunt (her sister) bought the diabetic excuse long after she should have known better. I remember being on the phone with her and saying, well if it is diabetes then diabetes looks exactly like a drug overdose.
I don’t buy it with this young lady at all. She has the exact same look my mother always had.
BTW, my mother was NOT diabetic. She consumed sugar all the time and there was no effect UNLESS she downed some pills with that sugary drink.
As do I.
