I think Free Republic is probably a stop on the daily information gathering routine of several talk show hosts, along with Drudge and a few other sites where one can find an aggregation of current news and opinion pieces of interest to conservatives. Not at all uncommon to hear a host comment on a story soon after it’s posted here.
Tonight ML is dissecting Mitt’s comments about the 2016 election into atoms.
Another value of FR is the way the COMMENTS on a thread are done.
You can follow the strings of conversations easily, seeing WHO responded to WHOM.
Other websites, I can’t tell what the hell is going on or who is talking to whom. There is no reference number you can use to identify a single post. Mostly it’s just people spouting their thoughts with no concern for anyone else.
Paragraph indentation is done for no apparent reason, and profanity is rampant.
Most websites are cookie cutter clones and maybe people get used to them, I don’t know.
I do know FR has always (after it got to the WWW) been the same (minor changes were made, but nothing major) and best of all is that the ‘subjects’ of threads are not limited to just one theme.
I’ve also noticed that the skills of FR users are way above people that post on other sites. That we can post images, use graphics, gifs, and in general the entire ability of HTML is above and beyond what most sites limit one to.

Romney got hammered tonight. I didn’t vote for that guy but it is what it is. He was a fraud and always was. I’m with Trump, and it’s a gamble but i’m sick of these lying weasels like Romney. These establishment guys make me sick. Romney is showing his true colors.
I’ll go with Cruz if something happens..but i’m in tech and my number one iossue is H1bs..every company I go to are not Americans..and I don’t trust Cruz as much on visas//just my thoughts
Good point. I used to just respond to the last post but i’m trying to be more vigilant in responding to an actual post and not just the last one. It’s more time consuming to scroll up to find the right post but well worth it.

I find it hard to decide who would do a better job of being President. Cruz or Trump.
Since Cruz is already involved in ‘politics’ , I have less trust of him not to cave to political pressure.
Trump might find out that even if he is elected, that the huge bureaucracy of government might not ‘gently go into that good night’.
