Montage: CNN Asks Rubio About Trump 8 Times in 5 Min Interview
National Review ^ | Oct. 25, 2015 | Tom Elliott

On State of the Union this morning, CNN’s Jamie Gangel sat down with Senator Marco Rubio (R., Fla.), where she picked the Republican presidential candidate’s brain on a variety of topics. Such as:

-- Why is Donald Trump beating you in your home state?

-- What do you think about Donald Trump saying he’s going to win with Hispanics?

-- Is Donald Trump more in tune with Republicans on immigration than you are?

-- Are you comfortable with Donald Trump having “his finger on the button”?

-- Is Donald Trump “ready to be commander in chief”?

-- If he’s the nominee, will you “enthusiastically support him”?

-- “Do you think there needs to be a Stop Trump movement”?

Senator Rubio, you will be standing next to Mr. Trump in the next debate, do you have a plan for not peeing your pants?

The interview would have been vastly more informative if the host had asked Marco Rubio about Marco Rubio. But of course, that is no way to stir the artificial conflict mode.

Other than trying to goad the hapless Rubio into providing “ammunition” that could be used against Trump, the only other subject that CNN explored was to quiz Rubio on why he missed so many Senate votes. CNN & Rubio deserve each other.

Senator Rubio, do you think your voice will change before the next debate?

It used to be foreign policy and economic policy that concerned news media when questioning a politician. Now it’s “Trump Policy.” They only care about where you stand with Trump.

Rubio should not go on that show again till they decide to interview him about himself. Most politicians won’t speak up to protest this sort of treatment. Cruz would speak up.

I find it amazing what hollow shells all of the supposed "conservative" Senate and House members are. Now the country can see why the "conservative" Republicans despite having majorities in both chambers have not accomplished anything that real conservatives would consider a politically conservative legislative accomplishment.

They are to busy struggling to "keep the government open" or being "bipartisan" and "compromising." Or they are to busy pleasing their donors, their future employers in the corporate world or K Street. They are to busy even to show up for work. They really fooled most folks for awhile, didn't they.
( I would think the citizens of Florida would be concerned about Rubio's absences from the Senate.)

Rubio is thumbing his nose at the voters in Florida. He can’t run for Senate, so he couldn’t care less about doing his job.

Rubio put up with this drivel without taking control of the interview? Really? I didn't see the interview but this is pathetic if he let them get away with this crap.
