He has an ego I think. But still you should read one or more of his books to know him better. Skip CNN.

"My first thought after reading the 20 hours in surgery was stamina not energy."

Stamina vs Energy:

Ever been in an OR during life-threatening surgery? Conscious, I mean? What do you think a surgeon does during difficult surgeries, zone out and just stand there maintaining balance for long periods? Brain surgery on a child is low-energy compared with filing for another favorable bankruptcy? Or adding 1% to your net worth by negotiating the purchase of a nice golf course? Really?

That's astonishing!

Neurosurgery is quite intense. Not only do you have to stay focused but you are working with tiny things and sudden moves are dangerous. Add to this the fact that he did pediatric neurosurgery.....the life of a child is most likely in your hands. Usually an infant.

He is a rock star for me in this regard at least.

You must also work in medicine.

One hour operating on someone’s brain probably is more intense than riding 20 hours on your horsey through the rain and wind. If you get tired, or reach a impassable object...you quit or turn around. Operating on someone does not have that option. No comparison.

Lol..no tv these days at all and I’ve not read his book. I’d certainly like to. I respect him - he stood within feet of obama and shredded obamacare in front of millions. You have to love a guy who does that!

Here's a vomit bag for you. 😷 It's gonna be okay. Trump will be a great President, you'll see.

Yep, and that was a good speech, written in advance and probably practised. He was raised in inner city Detroit so his early language may not have been great. Nonetheless he is a diamond in the rough I think with tremendous faith, a bit of naive idealism, self discipline beyond 90% of us, and political abilities too, some incredible intelligence...a lot to offer.
The genes are there. His brother is some EE or something, also quite intelligent and with advanced degrees.

I did not say one word about Trump. You brought him up.

This is what the evangelicals like about him. His conversion to Christianity story. It would be ever so inspiring to the black community as part of Trump’s admin. Doctors are not necessarily considered good businessmen though. Our government needs to be run more like a business. No more $1,000 hammers.

I spent 20 hours watching House of Cards. That was intense, too. Lots of plot twists to follow and if I hadn’t paid attention closely I would have been hopelessly lost.

It was hard work.

First and *only* successful separation of Siamese twins joined at the head.

Seriously. This guy may not be our best candidate for president but he has been hailed around the world for amazing feats - in neurosurgery.

So he was a bratty teen. Who cares? Intelligent kids often are difficult to parent.

I have read a lot about him. My impressions are mostly favorable, just not as president.

I’m haven’t decided yet.

The point is this argument about how long he can do surgery is retarded and has zero bearing on whether or not he would be a good president.

His positions on issues, OTOH, combined with his penchant for pacifism, are very relevant.

Running a pediatric neurosurgery dept at a top hospital probably gave him some sense of business. After 30 years.

I don’t think that would be his downfall. Rather I think he has some ego issues and no experience in a government setting. A bit naive and idealistic.

Some of those hours he is just tweeting.
