It speaks to his brilliance and self discipline and ability to stay very focused and steady for long long periods of time. Not a quitter, able to respond quickly to emergencies and make rapid compassionate choices.
You wake up to answer the phone at 3 am and give orders for a child with serious head trauma in the ED. The choices you make are most likely life and death for this child, BTW.
Thinking fast on your feet in trauma is a great quality for anyone.
Nope. Hospital administrators (business people) run that end, so that medical people can do what they do best. Watching the bottom line is not what docs do best.

I went through major (16 hours)of neurosurgery. There were surprises. Like sewing me up after 12 hours and sending me to ICU for 3 days, then back to surgery to finish. My neuro had a better reputation than Carson. I don't know for sure, but I bet when you put in 20 hour days no one's very life is in your hands.
Well yes and no. You do have to submit budgets yearly and campaign for the new equipment you want. Monitor overtime and fte’s.

I hope so, although I’d add Fiorina. She excels in the debates and more are coming, so I expect she’ll gain ground again after the next one. The good news is that Bush is back there with her and has no clear path to gaining ground, that I can see anyway.
Carson/Fiorina would be a nearly impossible ticket for Hillary to beat, I think. Both would chew into her natural base in a big way, and either one would make a far better President than HIllary. It’s fascinating the way Carson keeps rising in the polling. Now that Trump is focusing on him, it will also be interesting to see if Carson fades or continues to gain ground.
If Trump fails to take down Carson it could mark the high water mark for Trump, after which Cruz, Rubio, and Fiorina would finally get a lot more attention from the voters.
I don’t think Dr. Carson lacks energy. I think he lacks common sense on too many issues, because he lacks conservatism on too many issues.
Other than that, he’s great.

Agreed. When a person expends energy they burn calories. I would wager that in that 20 hour surgery, Dr. Carson’s brain consumed more calories than Trump’s entire body did over the same 20 hours.
Yes. Thank you. I have been a Cruz supporter but I work in trauma and think too many people here are clueless about what Ben Carson has actually done. It is superman stuff.

We should have this scientifically tested so we know who burns more calories and is therefore more energetic.
Trauma surgeons on the whole are very calm and self-disciplined.

Trump is right on a good number of things. Your devotion is still overly emotional and not very logical and intellectual. Period. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive (Google it).
What are the personal characteristics you would list for a great POTUS?
I am more interested in the positions a candidate has. Trump is good on the issues. So is Cruz. Carson is way the hell out there and off his rocker IMO.
