After record-shattering September, 2015 in commanding lead for Earth’s hottest year on record

Planet Earth is on a high temperature record-breaking tear this year, which shows no sign of relenting. 2015 is, by far, on track to become the warmest year in recorded history.

NOAA reports today the globally-averaged temperature for September 2015 was the warmest of all previous Septembers on record, dating back to 1880, and by an unprecedented margin of 0.19 degrees.

“September’s high temperature was …. the greatest rise above average for any month in the 136-year historical record [comprised of 1,629 months],” NOAA said.

The morons are standing behind a refrigerator, taking temperature readings, noticing it is getting warmer, then declaring the refrigerator is getting warmer. In the world of real physics, the refrigerator is getting colder. At the rate it take progressives to actually learn something, economics for example, Chicago will be under one mile of ice before these idiots get it.

Has this claim been vetted? On the surface it fails the sanity test.

Is NOAA using satellite data, or land based temperature sensors? Are they "adjusting" the raw data in any way? Are they using global data, or just data from a hot spot on the planet?

I suspect that NOAA has been taken over by leftists, as has EPA. Their claims simply do not ring true. It will take many years of honest management to win back public trust.

Comparing satellite data from the 1880s. Very accurate.

“Comparing satellite data from the 1880s. Very accurate.”

Yeah. I think back then they only had enough memory to send back like one reading every month!

(P.S. - we had a mini ice-age in the late 1880’s - so I hope it is warmer than back then.)

I'm still amazed to learn they had thermometers that can measure to hundredths of a degree as far back as 1880.

Exactly, which makes their data worthless. Add to that in taking readings off of a mercury thermometer, 2 different people looking at the same thermometer will come up with 2 different readings certainly within a half of a degree ( depending on how the thermometer is calibrated ). So this increase of .19 degrees is well within a margin of error.

It could very well be. After all, back then, there was NASSA. Agreed, it was not as automated and computerized as today, as they had to bring back data manually after each mission...

The temperature numbers have been coming in a lot more in line with predictions since they moved the sensors to the heat exchanger outlets.

Central Park in Manhattan once sat under a glacier that was 500 feet thick.Yet it's been ice free since *long* before the advent of the internal combustion engine.

How could that *possibly* be?

This from a group of “scientists” and meteorologists that can't give us an accurate forecast for more than 5 days.

But we're all gonna die in 100 years because of my car/boat/ac/heat/bbq grill/....yada...yada...yada!!!

These people need a wholesale beatin’ .

Boston area 8 feet of snow in a short time, a cool (and thankfully pleasant) summer...this upcoming winter may be more mild than most, though. The weather constantly changes and man made “global warming” aka “climate change” has little to do with it.

Early 2014 NY Times writer predicted “the end of snow”...

NOAA is no longer a credible scientific organization. NOAA and to a lesser extent NASA are now a political organizations controlled by Marxists.
