Now that ObamaCare is failing in the exact way its critics predicted more than 5 years ago, the White House is preparing to use threats to increase ObamaCare enrollment numbers next year. The threat, of course, is the ObamaCare tax.
Next year the annual fine for not buying President Obama’s overpriced health insurance will jump to $695 or 2.5% of your income, whichever is greater. The White House intends to use the hefty fines as leverage in the upcoming 2016 enrollment period, which starts in November:
Administration officials are looking for a balance.
“We need to be make sure that we are very clear and explicit about that $695 penalty so people understand the choice they are making,” said spokeswoman Lori Lodes. But she said the main emphasis will stay on the benefits of having health insurance and how the law’s subsidies can dramatically lower the cost of monthly premiums.
It is no secret as to why no one is buying ObamaCare — ObamaCare sucks.

I’m 68 and was lucky enough to work for a top 50 company. I have a nice retirement income, so nice that the gummint has designed a mechanism to “fine” anyone who has more than a certain annual income ($84,000 I think). I have been taking an income of $94,000 per year and have been fined more than $100 per month on my Medicaid payments because I’m guilty of being successful.
“The Individual Shared Responsibility Payment” is not a fine comrade, it is your duty to the collective.
Yes its written right into the Obamacare legislation that the only avenue of enforcement is tax refunds. Otherwise they would not have been able to get enough votes to pass it.

I pay more, but my medical benefits are the same as the guy on the corner with the cardboard sign.

Our elected senators and representatives have totally betrayed us on ObamaCare. They have NOT supported its repeal and the lack of seriousness on their part toward ObamaCare’s violation of basic freedom is another of the reasons I despise them and want to tear their houses down.

I despise them also. I actually now loathe the Republicans worse than the Democrats. But if Trump gets in the Whitehouse they will legislate his agenda as they will have him for a spine. So they will repeal Obamacare. Don’t pay the fines.
