The real news from the event was U.S. Rep. David Jolly crashing Crist's party to blast the man running to succeed Jolly in Congress.
"I care too much about this district, the institution of Congress, and who represents us to lay down and let this huckster walk into office," Jolly said. "He's a fraud. ...He will tell you anything that you want to hear for the sake of trying to get your support."
Jolly is stepping down from the seat and running for U.S. Senate -- and attacking Crist is pretty good politics in a competitive GOP Senate primary -- largely because the south Pinellas district has been redrawn to overwhelmingly favor a Democrat.
Republican former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker is looking seriously at running, and Jolly said he would enthusiastically back him if he runs. Then he pointed to Democratic County Commissioner Ken Welch and said he also would make "a great congressman" for the heavily Democratic district.
"I have served with a lot of bad members of Congress. Charlie would be the worst I've ever seen," Jolly said.

Nope, in Florida, Crist is a public cancer and Jolly was totally correct in that he will say and promise anything.

Went to a dinner last week where Jolly was the speaker....he was quite good......just a little too squishy on an item or two for my sake.....but he’s better than CRIST....by a LIGHT YEAR!!!

This FL redistricting is a blatantly unconstitutional farce. Jolly crashing the Orange Menace’s coronation ceremony gets a big thumbs-up from me.
Sheesh ... I live in the 13th. I thought we were finished with Crist’s creepy TV ads and such. It’s going to be a long political season here.
I love it. (and I don’t see how it does anything but help Jolly’s Senate bid, though I’d prefer DeSantis)
Only way it would have been better would be if Jolly had kicked Crist’s a** (being careful to avoid contact with his HIV infected blood) and spit on his broken body. There is a ROBBERY IN PROGRESS of a Congressional seat. Crist is no better than a common thief and he deserves Muslim style justice.
Baker should run, he’d give us a chance to win.
