In 2000, 19 months before Sept. 11, 2001, Donald Trump wrote extensively of the terrorism threat the United States was facing.
Trump, who at the time was considering a presidential bid on the Reform Party ticket, went so far as to say that an attack on a major U.S. city was not just a probability, but an inevitability.
I really am convinced were in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers, wrote Trump in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen.
Trump even mentions Osama Bin Laden by name, in a criticism of an American foreign policy that too quickly jumps from one crisis to the next.
One day were told that a shadowy figure with no fixed address named Osama bin-Laden is public enemy number one, and U.S. jetfighters lay waste to his camp in Afghanistan, The Donald wrote. He escapes back under some rock, and a few news cycles later its on to a new enemy and new crisis.

Four years before The Apprentice ever aired, Trump devoted an entire section of his book to keeping America safe from terrorism, arguing our ignorance of the threats we faced from terrorism was the biggest threat to national security.
Trump predicted a major attack on an American city that would involved weapons of mass destruction, writing,Yet its time to get down to the hard business of preparing for what I believe is the real possibility that somewhere, sometime, a weapon of mass destruction will be carried into a major American city and detonated.

“If Trump considered it inevitable then how can he now say he could have prevented it?”
Buy his book and read it, if you really interested in what he said.
“Anybody here have a copy of The America We Deserve? Maybe you can provide some verification?”
I bought the Kindle version from Amazon and read it last night.
Chapter 5 is “Freedom from Terrorism”. The chapter has some incredible insight to then and what could happen and his recommendations.
Amen Brother. I bought this book on Amazon/Kindle.
I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished it last night.
I have pre ordered his new book.
Not really. You just sound like an angry Trumpbot...and because I refuse to agree with you, you’ve become unhinged.
I have nothing to prove to you. And I really don’t give a rats behind what you think.
No, I don’t mean his narrow placed media formats (some FReeper posted a interview from WND with Trump as proof that Trump goes after Hillary!, but only 10,000 views is a joke).
I mean day in and out. He is the front-runner, unless he’s front running for somebody else. The enemy is Democrats.
Trump's comments were published in a book he wrote and published in 2000. You can buy the book from Amazon and read the quotes... it's still available...
Yeh...it’s great to be able to use hindsight for shoulda, coulda, woulda’s and to claim you can be a hero over something that happened.
Elites in DC cover for each other - and glorify 'the apology'. They're useless.
9/11 terrorist Mohamed Atta's Fla driver's license:
The terrorists took flying lessons...wanted to learn how to takeoff---not land.....
Did I push Bush off on you?
Did I push McCain off on you?
Did I push Romney off on you?
It is what it is. We can’t get Conservatives nominated.
If you an I and devout Conservatives were the only ones voting, then sure, we win.
That’s not the electorate. The electorate in our nomination process is. Conservatives, Leftist Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.
We are merely a group within the Republican party.
Trump has mass support. He’s hawking our policies.
That’s good enough for me.
I realize the futility of trying to get a good Conservative elected under normal circumstances.
They got their pilots license in Florida too, when Jeb was gov.
“Cause you are pushing a hard core liberal in us in this cycle.”
National concealed carry is hard core liberal?
10% rate for return of 2 trillion in stranded corporate inversion assets is hard core liberal?

Yes. The neocons have no trouble sacrificing American lives in pursuit of their latest fancies.
Bill Kristol is the #1 offender. The guy has been wrong about everything and yet people still put him on their shows. Why?
Rick Rescorla was one of the heroes from the Ia Drang valley battle (We Were Soldiers Once and Young). He was in charge of security with one of the firms at the WTC during the first bombing in the garage. He got together with some buddies soon after and brainstormed.
They came up with the next attack would be airliners crashed into the towers. He would run training exercises for that event. He got all of his people out of the tower, and died trying to rescue others.
Sadly, I agree.
I appreciate your comments, and to an extent I agree on several points there.
Here’s what I think happened.
Trump entered the race thinking it was going to cost him tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars.
He hadn’t counted on the massive pent up anti-establishment collective thought in the general populace.
The media started attacking him from day one, but the populace so (expletive deleted) tired of the GOPe, the talking heads, and the MSM, they naturally flocked to Trump.
Trump didn’t have to spend a dime to be on the airwaves constantly. The MSM wanting to destroy him, was happy to play that game. And by playing, it lost big time. Trump won a massive decisive victory that the public applauded with their support.
So does Trump realize you have to get Republicans, Independents, and Democrats to vote for him? Sure. Did he start out appealing to the Democrats and Independents on purpose? I don’t really think so.
He was focused on the Republicans, and meeting their platform expectations. How could anyone in their right mind, think that platform would appeal to Democrats and Independents?
Trump sat back with his mouth open as demographic boundaries concerning politics, gender, and race were quickly fluid.
He was drawing support from everywhere.
Every attack against him made his supporters even more convinced the political kingmakers and the MSM were merely trying to defeat the public again.
And the public wasn’t and still isn’t having any of it this election cycle.
Beats anything I’ve ever seen. I have never seen a guy catch fire like Trump, and that includes Reagan.
Reagan took a beating in the press, but lets review that for a moment. We had basically three networks and the newspapers in Reagan’s day.
Today we have about seven main news networks. We have cable. We have the internet. We have the blogosphere.
We have literally thousands of voices trashing Trump from some sort of professional vantage point, and then we have millions of internet users doing the same thing.
Trump has crushed them all, every last venue.
Is there another candidate today that could do that? No.
Not IMO.
We are being treated to a front row seat, a guy hawking our values to the public for the first time in 32 years, loudly enough for them not to be able to ignore him.
They are buying in, across all demographic lines.
Thank heaven.
