“So there’s a good chance that those people would not have been in our country,”

This is a good argument.

This is a good argument.

That's a horrible argument, because Atta and the other hijackers were here legally on student visas.

Is Trump going to shut down all student visas?

The terrorists were all here on expired student visas, so yes, tough immigration laws would have prevented or caused 911 to have been scaled back. These foreigners don’t belong here, importing more of them is creating a huge terror risk that we will eventually not be able to roll back.

Its a great argument, we lost our freedoms in the name of security because our President refused to profile and tighten our immigration from countries that want to kill us.

An EXCELLENT argument! The Chamber of Commerce has elbowed it’s will upon all of us AND the US government to set this pattern for open borders and virtually NO border law enforcement. They carry no small part of blame for 911, and all the other escalating slippery attacks perpetrated on our soil for 25 years.

They have accomplished their goals with purpose, out loud, and in full view of the country. But, until Trump, there was absolutely no force strong enough to make the case to STOP it.

Now we’re in a position to cut the legs out from under these nefarious boosters for business, at the price of lives (remember Kate), to build the wall, to empower border patrol, to ENFORCE the dang laws on the books, which worked perfectly since WW II forward, until they didn’t..

God help us.

No...it is not.

Trump would have inherited the same immigration conditions that Bush did. The same House and Senate that Bush got. Trump would have inherited the same neglect on and fight against Islamic Terrorism that Bush inherited, left over from the Clinton years..

Those things do not change overnight, and besides, many of the 911 attackers had been here on legal student visas.

It is very, very unlikely...probably impossible... that Trumps plans, as good as they may be, would have made any difference in that time frame quickly enough to have stopped them.

The terrorists were well established in the US when GWB took office, earlier in same year.

Congratulations Your comment is “Stupidity on Parade”

Donald Trump comes into office instead of W

While the previous president, Bill Clinton has been in office a plot has been in process for years and all the players are on the ground and getting ready to fly planes into buildings . Also during this time rules are in place making it difficult to share intelligence between law enforcement agencies.
Trump is now running things but no one knows the plot is in place or who the players are and 9 months after Trump is in in office they pull the trigger and attack.

So Trump ,who I guess is the Magic Rich Guy (not the Magic Negro) intuits all this and shuts it down ?

Trump is an ass Plain and Simple

This is a good argument... if you’re wholly ignorant of history and good arguments.

... since he’s “extremely, extremely tough on immigration” the attackers wouldn’t have been in position to commandeer U.S. flights.

He took another shot at Jeb Bush for claiming that Bush’s brother, the 43rd president, kept the nation safe.

“I’m not blaming George Bush,” Trump said. “But I don’t want Jeb Bush to say, ‘My brother kept us safe,’ because September 11 was one of the worst days in the history of this country.”
